I may not be the sharpest knife in any drawer but posting pics on this site is beyond me.  Not very user friendly and unforgiving for some of us.
AMEN!  I have been on a computer for the last 20 years of my life, and I still have problems posting pics on this site!  I know you cant post a lot at one time too...

I actually gave up after trying for over an hour... Another member bailed me out and got my pictures to be visible somehow... Love the website, just wish picture sharing was made easy...  :Twocents:

Fred

I use a PhotoScape. It's free to download and it's easy to use. I use it to resize all  pics I want to post up on the forum.

Or else, if you're still using windows XP or even windows 7, just email the pics you want to resize to yourself (window will rezise them for you) and then just save them and post up on the forum. BUT as you probably already know, you must rename your pics each time you want to repost. I just hit my hand down on the keyboard and do like I'm playing the piano. That way I never end up with the same name twice.

Or you can try Photobucket (also free to download) then all you need to do is upload the pics (to photobucket) and simply copy and paste them straight onto your post page. That will also allow you to post up more pics at a time.

I just use the paint program on my computer.

Fred

The trouble with paint is that you have to make the pics pretty small in order to get them under the 200 KB's allowed. And that's quite hard to do if your pic is over 1MB to start with.   :Twocents:

Around 450 pixels high and 600 pixels wide gets me within range on most pix.  That fills my screen nicely on most pix.  This one is 585 wide and 450 high.

Fred

ok, I had to go smaller than that with my diagram in   http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,101580.0.html   to get it under the 200 kb.

i use MS paint also, i just take the 12 megapixal photo and resize it at 20-25% on both sides and it seems to work most of the time and the picks don't come out too small

My camera takes huge pics. sometimes as large as 1.7MB and they're pretty much impossible to resize with paint.  But all in all there are many options available to getting the right size pic for posting up on the forum so it's not an issue for me.

this pic was 2.14 MB, 4000 X 3000, used MS Paint, went to the Image button then resize/skew then 20 % in horizontal and vertical in the resize section and turned it into
103 KB, 800 X 600

i don't know what version i have but the computer is pretty old, 5-6 years, hope this helps

Thanks Mauve, I'll give it another go. I've got windows 7. But as I said to stroker I had to go quite small using paint to get the kb's down with this diagram I posted up.
