Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

new to chargers so thought I would post a pic and say hi and thanks for all the great info. I am learning a ton just from surfing the old threads. My son is 15 and we got him a charger for his very first car. It is a 1972 and runs/drives but will need quite a bit of work before it is ready to become his daily driver when he gets his drivers license. So far, we have changed out the front disc calipers, changed brake fluid and bled brake system, cleaned up front grill, and changed out the U-joint. Now working on sanding the brake light surround for black paint, working on the electrical wiring which is still a bit finicky and trying to track down a cheap set of used wheels since the current wheels and tires are mismatched and generally suck.

Welcome. :patriot:

Here are your wheels, can't beat this price. New tires and magnums.
Allen lives in Missouri but will deliver to Carlisle so if you live anywhere near this route you could be in there. :2thumbs:

Thanks for the nice welcome guys! I'll be taking photos of the restoration so will post more up as we go. As for wheels, son wants 15 x 8" so those 14" wouldn't work for him but thanks for the info. PRobably have to stick to local deal since shipping on wheels/tires is waaay too much.

Good looking '69! Mine's about ready to go in for paint so no pix yet but I'm curious as to your wheel and tire size. Do the rear tires rub when/if you have a couple folks in the back seat?
Thanks

Tom,

Thanks for the compliment!!

The car has 15x7s up front with 235/60r15s and 15x8s in the rear with 255/60r15s - and no, they do not rub - they DO clear the wheel openings!!

Rustymuscle

If you want to tuck the most amount of meat in the wheelwell as possible, I found that my 15x8 Welds with Hoosier DOT 30x9 street slicks work great. Of course, that's with Mopar S/S springs, 1.5-inch blocks, and drag shocks. The do rub with two full-grown passengers, though.

They are actually a knock off the old Halibrand Gasser wheels.  I can buy them pretty reasonably through a local speed shop.  If you are interested, let me know and I can get you some prices or better yet I can just give you his number and you can give him a call.
