Me and my first charger in 1984

XS29LA47V21

Love the old photos. :drool5:
My first Charger back in 1984 or so, owned the car back in Miami FLA until 1987 when I sold it to buy another 69 Charger.  This car was painted dark blue, Q5 originally with 383 H code black int and black top.  Not for buying, but I do wonder where the car is and if it has been fixed up or restored.

Here are a few more old ones.  I still have the girl, too, but sadly, not the dog.

Great pix BJ8.

Both cars look to be a light shade of green.  So is it true the reason green was so popular back then was all the service guys' coming back from Vietnam wanted green to match the equipment they ran when overseas?

Well, the reason mine is Light Metallic Green is because my wife agreed with me that it was the best of the available colors.  Since we both liked it, the choice was easy.   She let me pick everything else.  Actually, I always thought that Light Metallic Green was rather rare.  I have only seen one other Charger on the road since 1969 that was the same green and without a vinyl top.  The green '68 in the photo was seen and the photo taken by my son, not me.  My personal belief is that nobody who was in Vietnam would have wanted anything back home to remind them of the experience! :rotz:

Love the hood stripes!  The sides are a little too much for my taste.   Nice car!

Thanks.

I am trying the side stripes for now. They are vinyl, so if I don't like them, I can just peel them off. Although they are growing on me.

I just painted the yellow one a few days ago.

Added some stripes.

Yeah, the stripes look good.

I would have held off for a while, perhaps even taking some pictures before adding the side stuff.  :shruggy:

Then again, you didn't ask for opinions.

I like those stripes! If I had a 2011, I'd do the V21 hood black outs and the pin stripes on the sides like the '70 Chargers had :yesnod:

GG: AWESOME pair of Chargers!
