Awesome cars guys!  :2thumbs:

Hey Erzfreund, are you going to take it to the air strip drag races? There's a guy named Chris from Germany ('67 red Charger) that's on the 66-67 Charger forum that takes his car to organized races that they hold at a local airport. Do you know him?

http://www.charger1967.blogspot.com/

I don't know him because I am new to the scene. But maybe I will meet him this year at the "Street Mag Show" here in Hamburg.
If someone don't know what to do in springtime and has some money left for travel. Why not joining me at the "Street Mag Show" in Hamburg held on the 19th and 20th of May 2012. Just send me a PM so I can get in contact with you.
Here are some expressions of last years show. The expect about 2000 vehicles this year.

It looks like Chris and all those guys really know how to enjoy their cars for sure!  :2thumbs: I'm sure you will have fun with yours too!

That looks like a great show! I would LOVE to come there to see it, but I don't think I can afford it. :shruggy: It always amazes me how many great American cars are over on your side of the pond  :yesnod:

Enjoy!

Great pictures especially those of my Charger on the ramp! Thanks!  :icon_smile_big:

Will watch out for you and your car at the Hamburg show, can't wait for spring either!

If you're looking to race her you should consider attending the Mopar Nationals Germany. It's no timed race but great fun!

And check out the weekly cruises in Hamburg, you'll see it's not hard to find Chargers over here :icon_smile_big:
Held every sunday either at the harbor (hafenbahnhof) or at the newly renovated vintage gas station!

I agree the German cars are best when it comes to a daily drive. I have a Mercedes E320 Bluetec diesel for the daily drive. Best car I ever had.

Sorry, I disagree.
Go Mopar or go home.
I drive an old Imperial as a daily and hate german cars

Carsten

Erzfreund

Sounds like you live in germany too. Where do you come from? I know the Hafenbahnhof at the Elbstraße, but which vintage gas station in Hamburg do you mean?

Is the Imperial the only classic you have Carsten?

jwramc

My family drivers are a 2000 Stratus, a 96 Sebring droptop and a 2010 Grand Caravan.
My classic is a Mopar-by-acquisition '71 AMC Javelin ADPS 401 Special (one of 61 marked '71 highway patrol Javelins built for Alabama) currently awaiting a full resto to police-duty specs (currently a custom purple I can't wait to make go away).

I know, not a Charger. Shoot me.  :icon_smile_cool:

Here's what it looked like new, and how it looked the day I went to pick it up.

Hi,

no, I have several Mopars. My B-bodies are usually just "toys" which I use for fun but I always have a few fuselage C-bodies for the average driving.

Sure. Here she is halfway home and just hosed off for the first time in a decade...at my sister's home near Newport News, VA.

I live in northwestern New Jersey and the car was discovered outside Tuscaloosa, Alabama by a total stranger who knew of my website for these rare beasts, and contacted me to confirm what he had found. I explained it was indeed a real one, and if he didn't want it, I'd love to grab it. He contacted me a short time later, saying he could not afford it, but had passed the info to a friend he thought might want it...because he felt it should remain in AL due to its history. I explained MY fear was it would land in the hands of another hot-rodder that would change much more than the paint and that history would surely be lost. Another few weeks went by and he told me his friend had passed on it, and he provided the owner's contact info. I called the guy, said I understood he was asking $X and was interested. by now, he wasn't sure he wanted to sell it anymore and I said I don't want to come down there to see it, only to be told it's no longer for sale, so I'd need a firm price before I make the trip. He upped the asking price another $500 and I said I'd be there that weekend with that much in hand, and provided the car was as complete and rot-free as had been described, we'd have a deal.

...and we did. Here she is in storage at my in-laws' home...

(Note: the 304 emblems on the fenders were put there by me to deter a thief that might hope it has a 401 in it. All the 401 emblems are in one of several parts boxes).
