been thinking  ,  all the 426 Hemi race motors that were used by the grand national racers , what were the pads stamped as on the top of the block !! i have seen petty enterprises scribed on heads in the past , are there many of these blocks still out there ?? !   same goes the iron production hemi block , that was used for nitro in the early 70s  :scratchchin:
wonder if any have made their way back into street cars , i have read about one in a 57 plymouth & in a dart :coolgleamA: :scratchchin:

Aero426

There are not a great many oval track Hemi blocks out there,  mainly because they were simply raced to death.    That stuff was all legal to run into the mid 70's in NASCAR, and even farthur in USAC, long after production ceased.    You have to be lucky to find a proper race block, and sometimes when you do, you will need the right car to put it in to get someone to sell it to you.

As I recall, if you can find who has my old Lime Lite 'Bird (RM23U0A161559), the hemi I stuffed in that had a date cast on the block of late February, 1964.  No recollection of what the stamp pad said.

Nascar blocks have a extra hole drilled and tapped into the front, but they all have stamped number into them and a list exists
