I stopped by Specialty Wheels today and spoke with Kelly South, Director of Sales and marketing, and set up a group buy discount for DC.com members who are looking to purchase Magnum 500s, Rallyes, Recall wheels (Specialty calls them Warriors) and accessories. It's not set up as a "percentage" discount per se but he will be extending his vendor pricing to the members of this site.

Specialty now has dodgecharger.com listed among its vendors so from this point on all anyone has to do to get the vendor pricing at Specialty Wheel is call Kelly South at 800-959-5800 toll free or 503-491-8848 and say they want to order their wheels through dodgecharger.com and they'll get the discount. Do not attempt to purchase these group buy discounted wheels with the online order form. IT WILL NOT WORK. Call or email Kelly and work with him personally. Again, the phone numbers are 503-491-8848 or 800-959-5800

Kelly is there from 6:30 am until 2:00 pm PST Monday through Friday. If you call during that time there is a 95% chance he will be the one answering the phone. Email at kellys@specialtywheel.com is also a good way to make contact if you're unable to call during those hours. Again, Kelly said the website is NOT the place to order wheels because he does not get the emails from the site quickly and the prices shown there will not reflect the group buy price. Once again your best bet is to call him at 503-491-8848 or 800-959-5800. If you're not able to call during the hours he is in the office you can email your phone number and he'll get back to you but be sure to let him know in the email that you are part of the dodgecharger.com club.

As of today, 10/12/09, the prices/discounts are as follows (15X7 below is used as an example. You are not limited to that size):

One set of 15X7 chrome Warrior wheels (Recall Wheels) complete with lug nuts and center caps will be priced at $1,500 which is almost $500 off the retail price of $1,992. The trim ring version is priced at $1,575 but Kelly says Specialty is trying to discourage people from buying those because they've been having some problems with the trim rings and might discontinue them. However, if you are dead-set on buying those they will work with you.

Each 15X7 Magnum 500 will be marked down to $120 instead of $163. FYI, Summit charges $150 for a 15X7 Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500 so that's $30 less than Summit per wheel. Center caps and lug nuts are sold separately but are also discounted. Center caps for example will be $8-$10 off each.

The price on a set of 15X7 Rallye wheels purchased through this group buy would cost $659 which beats Specialty's current "monthly special" sale price of $795 for a set by $136. That price includes trim rings, caps and lug nuts.

If you want to know the shipping price or the retail vs. vendor price on something you want I encourage you to talk to Kelly from now on. He can be reached until 2:30pm PST at 503-491-8848 if you have any questions. I think this is going to be a good experience. Kelly has been great to work with so far and I think Specialty has a quality product.

Oh, I forgot you can't reply to these threads. Please contact Kelly at Specialty if you have specific questions about the products they offer (contact info is on their site and below). You can also comment publicly on the topic here: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,62474.0.html

Three things I want to add that might be of interest. Specialty does carry the 16X7, 16X8 and 17X8 Magnums if you're interested in those.

The second thing you need to know is that all of Specialty's wheels (like all two-piece wheels) are lug-centric which means they need to be spin balanced by the lug holes not the hub. If you don't have them balanced at the lug holes they will vibrate unless you get really lucky. You will have to call around to find someone who can do this but a good tire guy can get it done. Eventually Specialty plans to sell tires also and will one day have the ability to mount and balance wheel/tire sets in-house so all the customer has to do is buy and install if so desired.

Lastly, be sure to check out the Bargain Wheels section on Specialty's main page in the left column. If your budget is tight you can get blems from them for probably less than you can get the "top shelf" wheels on discount. I don't know that for sure but you can ask Kelly if that's the case. I also don't know if the blems qualify for warranty or if they can be discounted under the DC.com group buy; again, ask Kelly. But they will save you money. I bought a 15X7 Magnum blem from them and I couldn't see anything wrong with it.

Kelly @ Specialty answered a few questions I received:

Curtis,

Sounds like you have the clubs attention! Thanks for the help. I have answers for you and I have done them in the order that you asked them.

#1 All 15x10 wheels are considered special order and the backspacing is up to the customer as long as it fits the parameters we have to work with. The most common backspace is 5.5 inches and for most all Mopars this should work.

#2 Retail on the 17x8 Magnums is $314.82 and the price for the club is $266.97 per wheel

#3 The Warrior in 15x7 with powdercoated outers will be $1575.00 for the set.

#4 My understanding is that the 69 Mopars had the trim ring version Magnums also called the Road Wheel. I have been told this on several occasions by Mopar experts.

In regards to the contact info I would like to get an initial order and then after that I will have the information in the computer under your clubs name. I think if you get that order together I will input the guys individual orders to avoid confusion.

I hope this helps and again I really appreciate you spearheading this effort.

Kelly

Specialty now has the OE-style steel wheels available: http://www.specialtywheel.com/wheel-showcase/mopar.html

If you click on one of the steel wheel samples you'll see that they are also offering some hub caps too. Not sure if they're new, used or what. shruggy Again, do not place your order on the website! It's a good place to see what they have to offer but a bad place to buy (see the first post).
