:iagree:

It does have 3-speed wipers, which would be required on a J-code.

I'm trying to decide if that radiator looks like an 054 should.  The top tanks on a 2-core 055 are the same physical dimension as a 3-core 054's, but there is a discernable difference in how close the leading face of the core comes to the radiator yoke.  The 3-core radiators are fairly close to the yoke, whereas the 2-cores have more space.  If that's a 3-core radiator, it lends support to it being a Hemicar.  A 440 4-speed without power disc brakes would have been equipped with a 3.54:1 axle AND the 2-core 055 radiator, whereas a 426 without power disc brakes would have had the 3-core 054... because, the Max Cooling Package (as well as Power Disc Brakes) was required on all 4.10:1 Super TrackPak cars.

That's all assuming these are the original components, and there's a ton of stuff changed out on that car (even the accelerator pedal!)

Looks as though the pass. door panel is not on, too bad the camera angle did not pick up the hemi door badge studs (or the putty in the holes if it was missing). Great pics, I wonder when they were taken?

Thermostat housing is the '66 style with the tilted hose neck.  usually not a part that goes bad, which makes me think that maybe it's a 66 motor in the car :Twocents:  Still a very cool piece.  What web site were these pictures found on?

Charger440RDN

Nice!! It looks like a real one to me, notice the straps over the rear window. Of course somebody could have added those though.

Another thing besides the slanted 66 water outlet neck which is cast iron .And not the aluminum type that corrodes and leaks .The water pump temp sender on the housing location will be up top to the right on the early years .And not in the center of the alternator triangle bracket

Well it also looks like a NASCAR front end.  Nose is welded to the fenders and the structure is cut out above the wheel wells and the front fender inner structure and also the front bars coming off the nose to the core suppore.  Those are cut off too.   Rear markers are filled in.  Also does have the Daytona wind deflectors that were not used on the race Daytona's.  This is a good one...
Caution.... Low flying aircraft.

I can see a center hood pin in this shot.Along with the front bars. And maybe a hemi owners or wingcar club decal on dr side 1/4 glass in the other pictures
.Going back website search and see if I can find out anything else

I noticed that too - which leads me to believe it maybe was a transplant. Still cool though.

99.9 % chance this is an original race clip.  Way too much fab work to be from a street car, even the Z brackets.   The old darker red paint on the nose bracing would narrow down the donor cars it could have come from, NASCAR or USAC.   Not too many cars it can be from.

nascarxx29

Ive had no luck pinning it down either .Mystery daytona  :popcrn:

I'm pretty sure it's an original street Daytona even if the nosecone isn't original.  The latch tray support is present, although it looks like the ends have been trimmed off to allow the nosecone "Z" brackets to be attached closer in.  That's a spot-welded piece which would be too much trouble to modify and then add on a clone or converted C500 that merely had a race Daytona clip added.  The car's 4-speed HemiDaytona status may be in question, but it looks like a legit Daytona to me.

I got some other like this cars I am already looking into .Cant spend to much time on just this one .Hopefully it will eventually get indentified. And we get this particular daytonas background story

Weird.  But that is 2 different cars.  One has a disc brake booster/master and the other has a drum masters.  Under the hood is painted different and also the cut off bars are missing on this one with the 440.   Also the 1 guy has the exact cloths on in both picks.     That guy looks very familiar too..

No hood pins at all on the second car either...

I am 1000% sure that we are looking at 2 different cars.  Too many differences to list and those pictures were taken at the same time.   All 3 of them look familiar..  That garage looks to be very good sized looks like he got some cool Issac parts.
