Ive done some searcing but cant really find the answers.

Im shortly going to be ordering some harnesses, but im not sure what i need.

The car is a 69 RT/SE 440 with AC, build early september 68.

Question is, would this have been built with points ignition and a mechanical voltage reg?

Im trying to keep the car as stock looking as possible, but points are something i may draw the line at! But how reliable is a mechanical voltage regulator going to be.

Any thoughts on how to hide this clutter if i do update?

as far as i know ,  all the aftermarket ones have modern electronics in side !!! but still look like the 69 & older regulator  :yesnod: , i know 100 % that year ones have ,
if your going to a an electronic ignition  &  duel field alternator  , go for the 70 & up regulator  :yesnod:

I would say electronic ignition requires an electronic regulator. Is more stablish. In fact electronic regulators even they appeared in 70 were improved on 72 when elec ign came out.

Elec ign demands a GOOD power average.

No reason i couldn't run an electronic regulator using the "fake" ones and use electronic ignition is there?

Im quite happy, indeed prefer both electronic ignition and regulation, but i want it to look stock.

yes should work.

mor stockinh could it be the ready to run electronic distributor. Not exterior modules hanging around just a small box attached to distributor. Not a Mopar product, aftermarket. Dunno the quality

I had wondered. Most folks seem to run the mopar electronic ignition, but there are loads of other systems now. I dont really want one of those modules nailed to the firewall.
