You need either a 12 volt battery or 12 power supply and a speaker. Hook up the power leads and the speaker leads , turn it on and see what happens.

Foreman72

hm...yeah thats what i was figuring...just gotta locate some sort of 12v dc supply...

also...i found this guy online who takes a 1/8th in jack,  puts it in this nifty box and then wires it up to the radio so that you can play anything you can plug in thru the stock radio...anyone have a schematic of this radio or know how to hook it all up?

heres the site

i'm in the same situation...sound tech but not an electronics tech...i mean, being a sound tech has required me to have some electronics knowledge, but not enough to do that...

so which leads do i connect the power source to in order to test it?

same... but just making an info research will make it  :2thumbs:

then:

red is batt, orange is light. Power ground is chassis

black is speaker ground, green is + speaker lead. Violet is the other + channel lead if stereo

so do i would connect the orange and red to the positive side of the battery/powers supply? how would i ground the unit since its not actually installed?

attach a wire at any point of the radio directly to neg side of batt... if you want loose a little bit one screw of the radio and tight the wire there... or something like that
