I live in Corpus Christi Texas.  I remember in a smaller town called Aransas Pass, about 30 or 40 miles from here, there used to be 2 orange Superbirds that sat in an empty lot, side by side, for many years.   You could see them from the highway. I used to see them all of the time.  Does any one here know what may have happened to them???   I never got any up close look at them....just from about 100 feet away.  Be nice to find out that someone here has them!!!  Ive been told they are still around somewhere, but I haven't been able to locate them.   Ace

Well....the ones I'm talking were orange and they both had wings on them.....at least that's what my memory tells me...allthough   there is some similarity in the surroundings...but these were sitting side by side each other facing the same direction....im not too sure about the black vinyl tops either....im still curious....where were these taken???

TylerCharger69

Ya know what???   I clicked on a previous post....and YES!!!   These are the same cars!!!!  I hear that they are still around, but we all know how we hear things.....I'd like to know where they are!!!   And  yes....they were off of Highway 35!!!   They sat there every since i was a little kid!!!   I'm 44 now, so that'll tell you how long they sat there...In 1970 we had hurricane Celia come through here and devastate!!!   There was a magazine entitled "...And Celia was Her Name"....in this magazine, it shows  a Superbird that was smashed when a wall collapsed at the dealership....It's a black-and-white photo,....ill dig up that mag and scan the picture.

I have one of the Superbirds from Aransas Pass. I purchased the car over twenty years ago from the Robinson family that purchased it new. It is in its original condition with 42,000 miles on it. It is a Orange, 4bbl, 4spd car and still all matching numbers. Restoration on it is finally going to start this Winter. If anyone has any pics or one of the matchbooks from the motel (that had a pic of the cars on the cover) I would love to buy them.
Just thought Ya'll might wanna know it's still alive here in Kerrville Texas. :)

COOOOL!!!  Good to see another 'Bird lurking in a shop waiting for a restoration!  Looks similar to the under dash A/C unit that was in the Superbird that I restored.  If so, it actually has a Chrysler logo on the front of it.

There were several birds out of west Texas. Our Black Ice Superbird was originally a yellow bird out of San Antonio. Left there, went to L.A., then to Seattle, then Ketchikan, Alaska and finally to western Arkansas. Just 550 miles from it's original home.  Small world.

actually they were superbirds....I know all about those 2 cars, one is in Central TX in the same shape it was in when you saw it, and the other is in San Antonio mid-restoration.

neither of them sold for more than 5K from the owner....the one in Central TX was on ebay w/ a 75K reserve and nobody ponied up
