I do have a vintage photo taken for the late 69/ early 70 winter Dodge dealer display in Michigan showcasing the new 70 Challenger vert on the typ circular raised Dodge platform (Black and White photo, it may be the FM3 vert).......along side the display is the "original" 70 Daytona "watermellon" car, and several 69 Daytonas, as well as a host of new-4-70 Mopars, plus a Mr.Norms fiberglass 69 Daytona funnycar body.......was given to me by a gentleman at Carlisle, Penn. from a magazine article

Detroit auto shows were held anywhere from Tech centers to fairgrounds.Dealerships performance clinics etc.Thats not in question its alleged claim to what was show cased.

Refering to your above earlier noted description and pictures you just [[recently acquired]] at Carlisle as you stated

They are also made reference to on Mopar Max story timeline between [[2005-2007]] online daytona story. To the same picture scene scenario but this story includes a super bee in this fairy tale version of the facts of whats show cased in the alledged pictures

"The photos showed a 'new car' display by a local Dodge dealer with the new Challenger, Super Bee, etc," says Gary. "Plus, there was a 'funny car" Daytona with the body up and a tailshot of the right side of the Watermelon car

. Right place, right time. I've heard the MCI was a Chrysler-sponsored school and that every class had a project car; could this be one of them?

"

While no definitive answers have come to light, Gary now believes that this would be more plausible than the idea of a factory show car, since the people involved in those projects have all gone on record stating that the factory was not responsible for the mystery Daytona. The rear view also showed that the car had dealer plates as opposed to a manufacturers tag on it, even at this early date.

If you have enjoyed seeing these unique wing cars, Dayclona.com has complete kits available to do any of the 1971 versions they have built to date (the '71 Daytona, '71 Super Bee, and '71 Superbird), though Mike decided that he would indeed own the only '70 Daytona the company has developed. Dayclona continues to offer a complete line of aero parts and hardware for Daytona and Superbird restorations as well.

This wraps up our two-part series on the Dayclona crew here at MoparMAX, but we will no doubt be seeing more of them. Gary smiles when asked about what project may next materialize from their fertile imaginations.

"That's a secret," he coyly says in conclusion, "but you'll like it.

Mike still has no pictures and a lame explanation for the 2 different stories and timeline inconsistencies

Giving you the benefit of the doubt without proof of year or title of said magazine.I consulted the magazine guru and 2 time daytona owner with 34 pages of magazines listed just a fraction of this sellers inventory from selling and specializing magazines for many years to those in the mopar and wingcar hobby. And that netted this result. To see If another issue was in existence or heard of before by a longtime wingcar owner

Dave, I have never seen that ad. I've had two 1969 Daytonas, sold the last one in 1994. I have a 2008 Charger Daytona, same hemi orange as my old one. Help me out-I don't recognize your ebay name. You are Dave?
