My slotted rims I ordered came in today for my Bird clone.  15 X 8 w/4"BS.  I know there will be some that don't like them but whatcha think?  All I need now is some big white letter Eagles or I wish they still sold those Yellow Letter Nascar 1's.

Nice! where did you find them?

After a lot of calling around and searching I ran across these guys that built race car rims and had some of the centers below left over.  Several people told me that they didn't exist anymore but persistence paid off.   They did tell me they had a few more so if you like them here ya go.  You can order whatever width shell you want at whatever backspacing you need.  You don't have to get chrome but I think the painted color choices are either black or white.  If you want chrome centers too they'll send them off for additional $$$ but it would have been a long wait.  It cost me extra for the chrome shells.  I wanted something different from everybody else and thought they would go with the retro Nascar look I want to achieve.  I wasn't sure how they would turn out initially with painted black centers but I'm pleased as I think with the chrome shell, center caps, and lugs, it will all work together for me.  They are lug centered for balancing though so when the day comes to get tires I'll have to make sure they don't balance out the normal way.

GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Those guys have been around for a long time. We bought wheels and tires from them back in the 70's. They're about an hour north of me up in the mountains. Didn't realize they were still going.
I never even thought about them when we were looking at a race wheel for a project that we were doing.

Yes it is and it looks like on the receipt I had to pay a little extra for that pattern over the normal race size.  All said and done it was $492.24 shipped to SC from Ark. as you see them including the center caps which are chromed steel and not plastic.   I ordered a 5th rim and cap today for a spare in case something happened to one of the others later.  I would hate to get one messed up and not able to replace it down the road.  Doug I tried to reply to your PM but your in box is full.

Thanks, I cleaned it out.   Did they have any of those centers in the larger race size?

oldcarnut

Oops wrong Doug.  It was PettyBird that had asked me something about them and had a full inbox.  I don't know about the larger size but I'm sure if they can get it for you they'll let you know over the phone.  Sounded like to me they have a contact to be able to get those centers and maybe put the bolt circles in as needed.   Tool free 1-800-643-3625  Tech line 1-479-524-4157  If your going to use them on the street let them know as I think they use different weights for Race and DOT approval.
