As you guys know I just bought an xj and one of the few small problems with it was the temp gauge didnt work. I just bought a new sensors (Its the one that mounts on the water neck driver side of the engine right?) and still no go. Any ideas? Could the gauge be bad?

grond the wire to the sender & see if the guage moves , then try grounding the ground side of the guage to see if the guage moves , then see if you have power to the guage , lastly put an Ohm meter acroos th eguage with the wires disconnected & see if the guage has continuity , if no te guage si bad

Fixed it. Just found out the temp sensor is in the rear on the head. The one on the water neck is for the brain. Ooops. All it was was the wire was loose. :-[
