Did Daytonas come with bench seats?
Thanks! :2thumbs:

hemigeno

Nope, no Charger came with a bench seat until 1970 and the advent of the XH (REALLY base model) Charger.

Ghoste

Which is an important piece of trivia every Charger fan needs to memorize.  (just for bragging rights  )

Yes,And if you didn't spend the big bucks on the fold down armrest/seat or console there was nothing but carpet between them.

Daytona Guy

I have seen on the column and a bench seat 70 Charger HEMI. The tag looked authentic. It was not a strip down.

I think a Daytona was equipped just like that.

That's a better question for the '70 Charger experts (Dodge Don, ChrisG, etc.), but I am pretty sure the XH Charger had a bench seat as standard equipment but thought buckets came on everything above that lowest trim level.  Whether the XP (Charger 500) or XS (Charger R/T) had an available bench seat, I dunno.  There was at least one Hemi-powered '70 Charger 500, so that might expand the possibilities a bit.

Not sure on a 70 RT having a bench .But I knew a 70 Charger 500 that did

According to the VIN I don't think that's a '70 Charger 500, but a base model Charger (XH).  I'm pretty rusty when it comes to 1970 stuff, but I thought the model/trim progression went:

XH29 - Charger (base model)
XP29 - Charger 500
XS29 - Charger R/T

That's definitely a bench seat car though, with a C2XA trim code.

Here is another Daytona with buckets and column shift!

My Red 69 Daytona came with a column shift and NOTHING in the center.  Just carpet..
