Went over to a friend's house today to check out a Superbird he's detailing and doing some maintanence on the 4-speed. It's an original 4bbl car that supposedly the dealership installed a six barrel setup... 4-speed Dana car..  :2thumbs:

The car is really nice.. Fix some things here and there and enjoy or a perfect candidate for a full-blown restoration.

I've never really crawled under a 'Birds nose before, but is the area of the turn-signals correct? I know the lenses are basically '70 Coronets, but did 'Birds have all that space?

cone underside is about as "stock" as your going to get,...the directionals units/lenses are from the 70-1 Sport Fury/GT, just the brackets that support them are unique to the Superbird

Thanks Mike !!  :2thumbs:  I never knew there was that much open space in there.. I've only seen 'Bird looking straight at them standing or looking down at them at shows... Caulk up the "learn something new everyday" thing..

Here's a picture from the thread I posted about finding the unrestored bird last Month.
Looks the same only her car has the original paint still there.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Owner called me out of the blue yesterday. We had already met a long time ago at a local cruise spot. He mentioned he was "looking" at a Superbird. Apparently, he bought it. We exchanged phone numbers then and he still had mine. His intentions are to get her up and running/mechanially fit and have fun. So, within two weeks, we have two new Superbirds here in the Houston area, this one and a Limelight six pack 4speed car. So here locally, from what I know, there are:

Superbirds:
Running
1. W1
2. B5
3. V2
4. J5
5. Y1
6. 999 Corporate Blue on the out-skirts of Houston
Not running
1. Think another J5
2. Y1 (I believe there's another one of these, major project)
Daytonas:
Running
1. V2
Not running
2. V2 going through restoration
3. X9 on the out-skirts of Houston

C500's:
1. F8 supposedly runs/ have never seen it but met owners on base.
2. R4 longtime project
3. B5 driving/running car........

Thats cool Troy!

I gotta say if I didnt have the Green car I would never think about buying one now.....seams theres nothing but Green Birds surfacing.  :brickwall: Thats what chased me out of the Mustang camp, I prefer not to blend...used to be super cool running around in an obnoxious Green car but now its getting pretty common.  :shruggy: I went to a friends one day and he had some buddies over and one guy said, "Thats so obnoxious its sexy!" those words really stuck with me.
wingless now, but still around.
