The service manual is not so great, so can someone give me a step by step procedure to remove the dash out of a 73 charger rallye?

Try a search on this site. I think it's been explained before.

I'll try to find it out, but basically it is, unlink any wire or harness between body and dash ( vacuum lines, speedo wire, loose bulkhead from firewall etc... ), remove speaker grille, remove 4 bolts from top of dash frame ( just right below the glass ), drop column ( some models, specially earliers require remove it better ) and loose,DON'T REMOVE, JUST LOOSE the outer 2 bolts underneath the dash frame ( needs to remove kick panels to access them ). and voila, raise, drop and pull out the frame.

ONCE AGAIN, BE SURE EVERYTHING IS LOOSE FROM BODY. is a headache try to pull that big thing and find there is still something tied to the body when pulling out.

Do yourself a favor and remove the front seats. It will make this job go a lot quicker.
