Does anyone know who currently owns a Hemi 4 spd Superbird that was in the Detroit/Hamtramack area during the 70's. It was converted to a 383 two barrel automatic to save fuel (LOL), and was custom painted pearl white with a big goofy bird painted on the side? I think it was originally orange or red, not sure. I know where your original matching # engine is.

Ok I have to ask, what is the estimated mpg with a hemi?  1?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I drove a 68 hemi road runner from Houston Texas to NJ 1500 miles.I think it was $150.00 in gas. But that was 80-s gas prices .

When my brother and I drove our swapped in Hemi SuperBird (automatic, 3.54 Dana) from Phoenix to Los Angeles for the 1978 Winged Warriors meet, we averaged 16 mpg there and back.  It only got 9 mpg in town, and yes we had heavy feet back then.

I get about 18mpg in my R/T...

6mpg in town, 12mpg on the highway - that makes 18, doesn't it?

Not sure on the MPG on a HEMI Bird, but I have some receipts from when my dad drove the HEMI 500 cross country and it appears that he was averaging about 17 mpg in that car. One tank comes out to 6.5 mpg though, must have been in a hurry on that tank. The highest I can see is 17.2 mpg. He wrote mileage on all the receipts back then (odo reading at each fill up).

As you all know I drive my Hemi Bird everywhere and have put 100,000 miles on it since 1982.  On the open road it gets 14 to 16 mpg on today's 92 unleaded.  Around town it is around 9 to 11 mpg.  In 1999 on the trip to Talladega I installed an 833 overdrive and with 2 other people and our luggage I averaged 19 mpg (no heavy foot as out motto on the trip was everyone who wants to save gas raise their right foot).
