have 69 Daytona and i swear it has a bad case of Gremlins. It has intermittent no start like not even a crank. If you turn the ignition to start you hear the stater relay click but when you go to the start position it is a no go. have replaced relay, ignition switch and even ballast resistor. Now the indication is that when you put key in run position , the wiper arms twitch and the amp gauge goes to negative. You can always start car by putting key in run position ,and short the relay terminals , so the starter is not faulty. Any one have an answer???????

Have you checked the bulkhead connection all terminals clean and tight. Also check terminal at backside of fuse box that get loose
And good grounds are crucial at firewall to block ground cable to engine block.
But Id look into the amp gauge. Ive seen many short out there. From paper thin card board insulator shorting to dash cluster frame.
For a test I put the 2 amp gauge wires together off the gauge with a nut and bolt and tape it up and see if problem persists.:Twocents:
Are the plastic locking tabs intact where harness plugs into key switch.
Does wiring harnesses show any evidence of ever being tampered with
You mentioned replacing the starter relay the yellow wire and on the factory wiring schematic as 18 2 Y on relay there should show power with key on.That wire sources its power from the middle headlight harness on the bulkhead.Theres also a heavy wire maybe brown from small terminal post on starter to relay. That making a good tight connection
Also check the fusible link at relay that carries power to the inside of car
Depending if your 4 speed or automatic checkout the neutral safety switch or the clutch switch with green wire that goes on the relay from clutch pedal
Ive had them cause no start issues
The wiper twitch maybe a ground problem  :Twocents:
