Was a good day today! :icon_smile_big:
Fired the new engine (2nd time) yesterday and actually took the beakless bird around the block and gave it a bath this afternoon.
My battery turned out to be toast so I had to borrow one out of the pickup, but all went well. Now just to hang the nose back on and buy a battery, I may actually be able to burn a tank of fuel in it before it snows!
And before anyone gives me crap about the air cleaner, yes I know it's a LRE one and doesnt belong there. I have an Edelbrock performer intake on there now and my stock breather is awfully close to the hood, but I had this one laying around and the "snorkels" don't stick forward as much and clear the hood a little more. I'll need to see what my best aair cleaner option is long term.
It Felt Good!

spent a little time last night detailing the bottom of the "beak", fixing a few rock chips and installing the new seals. I'm hoping to have it all back together by this weekend

That nose looks gorgeous  :drool5: God I love blue winged cars.

Didn't realize it has been a year since the car was under it's own power, man time flies...

Looks great!  You were soooo close to making Indy when disaster hit.  It must feel great to drive it after all this time.    Bob

Thanks for all the compliments and encouragement!
I hung the nose last night (those nose seals are a royal PIA!) so I'm almost there, I  still have some finishing to do with the nose hardware and change the oil, but she's getting close (unfortunately so is Winter!)

You just need to come cruise up North for a day or two.  Or we can drive it around the countryside looking for barn cars... that's a good way to break an engine in..... :D :smilielol:

Congrats on getting it all put back together though!

WINGR

Allright, way to go Scott.  :2thumbs:

I'm sure I am not the first to notice but I think you need to work on a little on the aerodynamics next.   :smilielol:

Glad to see you're getting back into shape, hope you have a great cruising season next year.
