Sean, so you know what the chassis number is?  It still has a plate which is pretty rare.   Can't quite read it but it looks like DC-61, DC-91 or something like that.

Sean, so you know what the chassis number is?  It still has a plate which is pretty rare.   Can't quite read it but it looks like DC-61, DC-91 or something like that.

I don't know the number.   I do know it is the original McCoy/Conn chassis.  I took a picture of it but it's blurry.

As far as I know it was never re-bodied.    Bill showed me the inside of the right rear 1/4 where Jack hit the outside wall backwards in turn 6 during the June 70 GN Riverside race.    The front clip never made it back on the car as Jack wanted to keep it for his other chassis he had purchased.    Bill did purchased a nose from Gene Gregory.

As far as I know it was never re-bodied.    Bill showed me the inside of the right rear 1/4 where Jack hit the outside wall backwards in turn 6 during the June 70 GN Riverside race.    The front clip never made it back on the car as Jack wanted to keep it for his other chassis he had purchased.    Bill did purchased a nose from Gene Gregory.

It has the look of a very honest car, under the hood and the interior, although the dash, guages and seat have been changed out somewhere along the line.

One of the interesting things about this car is the vertical reinforcment bar from the RF window post down to the torsion car crossmember.    A few cars had this feature.   The #88 had it at one time.  Soapy's #06 had it.   The Brooks #32 Superbird also had it.   One of Lorenzen's #99 1971 Road Runners had it too.

I realize it's an easy swap, but it has a locking column.

Also note it still has the old style straight door bars on the on the inside of the passenger side door panel.   This was mainly for roll up and down side glass.   Some cars when rebuilt got new passenger side bars that curved outward for extra space and protection.

Is that a fuel neck and cap or or a power steering neck and cap on the valve cover?  Was this pretty common?

Yes, it's a gas cap on the oil fill on the valve cover.   That is exactly what it should look like.
