Same here. ( a rather sad state of affairs)

We are talking random chance.

I won a car once. Well, I didn't win it, a friend did, but he had no driver's license so he gave it to me.

You may be thinking that this guy was an idiot to just hand it out like that when he was the one holding the winning ticket, but it was a 1982-ish Dodge Caravan. Ended up being the band car for about 6-9 months until one of my friends/bandmates seized the engine. Pretty good for just paying the taxes.

Had a $600 win on lotto once about 12 years ago, the rest are just yellow pieces of paper.
And a few meat raffles when I used to go to the pub years ago and won a Meguires car polishing kit and buffing tool with the changeable pads at a car show- that was cool  :2thumbs:

Knew of a guy that won a 2nd div in the lotto worth a couple of hundred thou, he was a solid plasterer and just cut loose with it, had a hair transplant, brought a drag car, brought harleys for himself and best new friend, it all went pear shaped when he demanded the bike back and got the heavies involved and it went from bad to worse startlingly quickly and he ended up doing a stretch for it. Got out a couple of years later, broke as and had to go back plastering....( insert trombone noise wah wah waaaah )

Lottery winners don't have a great track record of using the money well.  The kind of person who plays lottery is a risk taker by nature and dumping a lot of money on them suddenly is a recipe for disaster in a lot of cases.

First thing I can remember winning that had meaning to me was a fishing derby as a kid. I had to be about 9 or so, showed up with a cheap fishing pole & a cup of worms. Meanwhile, the other kids all had fancy poles, lures, tackle, etc. I was the first kid to score a rainbow trout. Won a $100 savings bond, & got my picture in the paper. Good day for me as a kid, & managed to piss off a lot of the other kids, too!

Won tickets to Ozzfest a few years back by calling in a radio contest, that was cool. Unfortunately, once I got there I realized just how old I really am!  :o  :smilielol:

I gave up even buying tickets , I went to a car show 2 years ago & they had 2 50/50 draws , it was abig show & I think the morning draw was close to $1500, the the afternoon they had a second draw for $800 or so .... yes you guessed right the same person won both draws . I went to a social event last year & you do not even buy tickets they hand them out with the meal , there was 10 items to be won & the same person won 6 of them , how do you complete when people have luck like that ???
I have won the lottery twice now ...... But $10 doesn't go very far !!

My brother and I went to Super Shops back in February, 1978 so I could buy an Edelbrock CH4B manifold.  They were running a contest, giving away one Ford Courier every month until the Finals at Ontario Motor speedway, when Super Shops would give away their funny car.  I bought the manifold, my brother wins a Courier.

Most I ever won was $875 from a radio station.  Monday - Friday 8 AM-4 PM, the station would call out a name.  You had 15 minutes to call the station.  If you called in time, you get $125 an hour until someone else called in in time, up to a max of $1000.  They called it "the Peak Workforce."  I made it 7 hours.  They called my name at 2 PM and I called it at 2:05.  I called in again at 6:45 the next morning, offering to come in early to make some overtime.  Bastards turned me down!

$79 in the CA state lottery.
Sorry. I guess I'm just lucky in other ways!

Better to be lucky in love than lucky in gambling.....

Maybe so but the lottery is cheaper.   :yesnod:

I've won 4 numbers in the Texas lotto probably half a dozen times. Prizes ranged from $89 to I think $118 each time. I also won a pair of Cleveland Browns tickets a couple years ago which was pretty cool. I had never been to a Pro football game so I took my brother and had a great time.

Come on Tilar, one day you'll meet Miss Right and you'll make her Mrs. Right and you'll live happily ever after.
It can happen. Like my father-in-law always says...............there's a lid for every pot   :yesnod:

LOL, I've met 3 different ones that went by "Miss Right"... I just didn't realise they all had the same first name of "Always".  :'(

It's really amazing how some people manage to win lotto (and I'm talking 1st division) twice. I mean what are the odds. But they do.
And the rest of us poor schmucks can only dream about it!   :shruggy:

Came home one day and announced to the (ex) wife that I'd won lotto and I'd give her half.
Next thing you know she's packing her bag mumbling something about "about time..and moving out"
I hope she liked the $14.50 check that I posted to her.
Gotta love a '69

I just won the 684 million dollar Mega Millions jackpot.
:popcrn:

Man if i won that jackpot ( and yes i played) the first thing i would have done was to ship my old highschool car (my 1973 Dodge Charger S/E ) to Hodges Mopar restorations and have them do the finest restoration EVER done on a 73 Charger! I have had a complete 69 TNT 440 motor and trans in my barn since 1986 to someday go in that car. How times have changed, I only paid $200 for the motor / trans back then.  It was out of a 69 Chrysler 300 at the local
junkyard, complete with air cleaner,alternator,p/s pump, everything pulled in one piece! The 300 was cool it was a black convertible with a white interior, hit in the right front corner. :eek2:
