Saw this email from YO.   Nice looking wheels,  good price.

They come in 17x8 and 17x9 in sets of 4 for $699 or $199 each.

So I kinda want 17's for Sinnamon.   Figure 8's on front,  9's on back.

Email YO tech.   They said shouldn't be a problem to get 2 and 2 for same $699.  But I have to call sales.

Sales says nope.. they already made a decision to only offer them in matching sets.   Crap.

Anybody else think they might want a set of 8's and 9's and split them up?

I would be interested because I have to run at least 17s to clear my brakes. But...
A. How much are they gouging for shipping?
B. It's unlikely that they'll split the shipping so how much will it cost to swap/ship the 2 extra wheels after they are delivered?

I'd buy two sets for myself but the other Charger is getting 15s.

They have to buy these from someone. Any idea who?

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I just emailed their sales dept a 'complaint'.   Whatever.     For all I know from the site,  these would be pre-orders as they're not available until August!  I suspect they're contracting them out (to China) as they're marketing them as Year One brand.

I have no real immediate need for them but if the price is right,  well,  they can sit in the basement till I need them.    These are also devoid of center caps.   PG has repro center cap sets for $105 plus shipping.

I was almost gonna give up and go 15x7 / 15x8 repro fenton slots on Sinnamon.    I was trying to find 17" aluminum slots but all I can find those is 7" wide. :(

I never got past the you can't do that to ask about shipping charges.

Looks like they at least did a good job translating them to the bigger diameter.

The much, much more expensive Billet Vintiques ones look disproportionate. The American Racing AR500s are a little better, and a bit less expensive.

I'd be interested in knowing the weight on these.

I did a search before I replied earlier to see if anyone else had them and only found a thread on another forum stating the same thing you just did: not available yet so their probably being made overseas - which means copies will be available soon after. If they were available in time it's possible that a swap could be made at Carlisle but that doesn't look likely. Who knows, by the time you can actually buy them they may change their policy about mixing sets. I mean, if they're willing to sell individual wheels they're going to end up with mixed inventory any way.

Individuals are $199 each so I mean I could just eat the $100 and order the 2 and 2.     It's just a good deal for the moment but I dunno.  I asked the sales dude how long the introductory price was good for and he didn't know.

They're still cheaper than the $300+ steel American racing AR500 magnums I see on ebay.   I really didn't want the chrome wheels on Sinnamon anyway.

Meanwhile I got a full set of crusty 14" fenton slots in the shed with some crusty 30 year old RWL bias plies.   Something tells me they'll end up at the metal yard eventually like the rest of the 14's I see at swap meets all the time.

So the phone just rang and a nice woman named Alice just took my CC info and sold me 2 17x8's and 2 17x9's for $699.98 + S/H $101.83.

Delivery in August.

So that's the deal... if anybody wants a split set,  call'em.

You got any actual data to support that statement?

I doubt they'll be lightweight, but they'll certainly be lighter than the 17" chrome/steel magnums from Specialty Wheel. I haven't weighed one, but picked one up at a vendor booth and about threw out my back. A wheel/tire assembly on one of those would come in at over 60 lbs.

I'm guessing these will be a couple pounds heavier than the two piece AR500 or the Billet Magnum.

So has anyone actually got a set of these as yet? Would love to hear some feedback. Thinking about getting a set for mine.

Yeah, it's August now it'd be interesting to read some of the thoughts on these if anyone has them yet.  Curious on the weight now too.

I just got a card in the mail from YO...  we're still working on your order.   tic toc   :'(

Bummer. Hope you get them soon. Bad enough having to wait for new rims without them being late too.

That bites.  You'll have to see if they can provide any better info next weekend Brian (assuming you are going to be in the MA booth and practically next to their trailer again).

YO's trailer at the nats is useless .  I never see any parts or "new" parts or anything there.   I'm not even sure why they bring that whole rig just to hand out catalogs on a CD.     :Twocents:

Do they not usually at least have someone there from the office that would know something?   (and we both know why they bring the "show off" billboard truck  ;)  )

No I really don't  :shruggy:    I've looked inside...   there's no full service bar or stripper poles inside so wtf

I'd say its just to be a giant biillboard and try to overpower the draw of every other vendor at anything they attend. :Twocents:

Just think of the business they could do if they had free drinks and strippers  :2thumbs:

And affordable shipping.  On the other hand, the shipping wouldn't seem so unreasonable if they had free drinks and strippers. :D

Year One did have a wheel display at their trailer during the HRPT. No Magnums though.

No free drinks or strippers...  but there were some cast magnums on display.   Apparently the 17x9's are in stock.   The 17x8's haven't left the dock yet.
- Maybe sometime in September.

I reaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllyyyyyyyy like 'em!   :drool5:

I think they nailed the scaling. Brushed surface looks more like the later style too. I like. :2thumbs:

Still would like to know the weight. :shruggy:
