I pulled the tranny out of one of the cars because it wasn't shifting right. I got the correct numbers tranny and put it back in and now i am wondering what this one i pulled out goes to. Here are the numbers off the side.

MM,

Galen's little book says the following:

Quote
Automatic Transmissions are dated with an Assembly Serial Number, found on the drivers' side pan rail.  The number consist of:
Assembly Plant, Part number , 10,000 Day Calendar Date, and a Build Sequence # per day.

So:

PK = Kokomo Transmission Plant
4028825  =  Part Number (I can't find that number in the 3 website databases I usually check)
5815  =  Date Code (I don't have a chart that goes up past 4720 which is 6/30/74, sorry)
1323  =  1323rd transmission built that day

I know that doesn't give you all the information you wanted, but hopefully it gives you some idea as to what those numbers are.

4028825 is a  non-lockup 727 from a '78 400HP.

5815 is the build date June 29, 1977.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
