It was a light?  I always thought they were cigarette lighters.  I think it was a C-body thing, maybe 66 or 67.

bull

Oh, actually the description says it's both a light and a lighter.

yea..I have yet to see that on any "B" body....although I now think I would like to find one for the Daytona

I think I may have seen one of the fsm (not sure year or make) show it on a B-body installation but I think its a case of a generic drawing used for a variety of applications.   That kind of thing confuses people.

Had one & sold it to a guy for his 66 Chrysler Newport I think, but that was years ago.

Daytona R/T SE

I've got a console I took out of a C body years ago.

It has the arm rest and the lighter...

I wonder if it has the light? :shruggy:

I'll have to look.  :yesnod:

bull

I don't see where there's a light. :shruggy: Maybe the guy doesn't know what he's talking about, but a light would be cool back there.

Geezus, never saw that e-bay option before.  I suppose those C barges were so big they needed all the light and lighters they could get back there huh?  Cuz I'm sure they had them on each door as well.

Charger RT

my 69 charger had one in it when I bought it. was cool. I think it was swapped in because the console front was correct for a 69 but the console door was padded. I have another one to put in my 68. paid 28 shipped on ebay when I bought that one.

Ghoste

Oh yeah, definitely not a B-body thing.  At least not Chargers and no B's from 68 on.

I started a thread about a guy saying he had a light/lighter console plate for sale. I didn't start a thread saying I saw a light in a console plate. :nana:

Ghoste

Thats what I thought too Bull, light from the photo session.

wow...sold for $160.....I was thinking of trying to find one....if they were cheap enough. The only car that I could put it on would be the Daytona.....I did put 2 lighter socket assembly in mine for cell phone charging and ice-box cooler adapter, but I think the light behind the chrome would be a nice addition

If I could get hold of one, I'd put it in my charger. A very cool addition.  :2thumbs:

That's a good point!  Why do we want so much when we already are drowing in 'stuff' ?

You'll find them in C-body ragtops as there is no overhead interior light. As I understand it, it was an available option on 66-68 B-body console cars. I snagged one to put in the console section I hacked up to fit my package tray.

I disagree on it being an option for B-bodies.

I agree with your disagreement, it was not available on B-body cars
