Does anyone here know enough about spring steel and zinc plating to know if having spring steel plated with clear zinc would hurt it any?

Ghoste

I want to say no but thats about the time a metallurgist shows upp with some chemical data that says otherwise.  The zinc isn't applied by electricity and the steel isn't heated to some insane temp so I can't see how just coating it would affect it?

I think you'll find that zinc plating is the most common anti-rust coating on steel springs.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

What I seem to find more than zinc is nothing; bare steel.
