Was that a Ford Fairmont?  Beware stationwagons with centerline's on them!

Remember that mustangs from 1979 until 2004 were built on the same platform as that Fairmont startion wagon so Muffstain running gear is essentially a bolt-in.  And you know that you can make those Muffstanks VERY quick.

In any case, a car like that is no good as a sleeper.  Its like having a big sign on your car saying "Don't race me, I might not LOOK fast, but I'll whup your ass."  Building a car like that is done more as a big joke.

You are WAY better off building a stroker foxbody stang that LOOKS bone-stock under the hood.  People expect the car to be fast, but not nearly as fast as it is.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I'm not into so called Sleepers.       Ugly cars with go fast motors - what's the point?   I own a 69 Charger... arguably the most beautiful car ever made... even if I lose I still look good  :icon_smile_cool:

Aside from that,   wagons are good drag cars because of the weight distribution.

Go fast for relatively cheap, maybe? :ahum: Or maybe it's just a little tinkeritis that's run amok. ;D

...Muffstain... :smilielol:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

hell yeah! sleepers rule!
when racing deals fall apart.....you go home, like me.

The Ghoul

thats a full staffer right there! I love it.
my dad used to have an old chevy wagon back in the day that he threw a 409 into and he said that thing was wicked. he had a stock pile of drive shafts behind his garage because he would twist one a week, tires would grab engine would turn and tranny wouldent slip... there had to be a weak point some where.
I love sleepers. whats the point of looking good if you dont have the balls to back it ... you might as well become fabio.

I kinda agree with Orange Crush, I for one wouldn't race a Fairmont wagon because you KNOW the person is playing with loaded dice.

If I were to build a sleeper it would be a Neon\Duster(newer ones) with a heavily nitroused turbo.

1) Cheap
2) No value so what does it matter if it explodes
3) SMASH IMPORTS

The only real reason to build a car like that.

What was cool about that one is that he didnt sit there and rev it up, just hit it and went...    fast   :drive:

That was very cool.

I wanted to drop a HOT 360 in my '78 Fury 4dr cop pkg, strip out the interior and extra weight, and leave it baby blue with primer  :icon_smile_evil:  Unfortunately I had to get rid of the car last year...  :'(
