Which begs the question, was the B-J sale an actual sale or a televised hammer drop?  If the seller is well known to the auction house and there is no action on a car, it will often be sold to a non-buyer just to keep the crowd excited.  The deal could have also gone sour too.
I just find it surprising that IF IT IS the same car, it's already getting flipped.  It, of course, is extremely possible, but are they really going up in value that quickly?

hemigeno

Yep, that is definitely the same car.

I don't think values have gone up that much, that's just what they're asking for a vehicle they bought for about $100k less just 30 days prior.

Capitalism at its finest, or worst, depending on your perspective.

TruckDriver

I can't remember where I just saw it the other day, but I came across the Bobby Allison Daytona too again.

Am I the only one who is beginning to have trouble keeping up with all these cars getting flipped so quickly?  They've become like hockey cards (or baseball cards south of Canada?) for millionaires.

Those cars play in arenas that we'll never really know the truth. I'm cynical emough to believe that a lot of these cars are flipped just to keep the prices high so these handful of guys don't loose a ton of coins should they fall back to Earth and reality. 20 or 30 guys just keep circulating 40-50 cars. They can claim they own them all - for a while. ;D

69_500

Its crazy, and it makes people think that they can get a Daytona easier than they really can. they keep seeing cars for sale, but don't realize it is the same 5-10 Daytona's just changing hands 20-30 times.

Do you guys have a guess as to when this car was built?

Since it's a Canadian export car, it had an SPD of 6/10/69.

Was that what you were looking for?

That bronze car was a Canadian car as well? I wasn't aware of that. Since BJ didn't show the actual car going accross the block I never got to see much information on that car.

They're not much on mentioning specifics (like VIN'S) on B-J's auction roster, but they did mention its Canadian connection.  I'm sure that was left in there because it gives the appearance of even greater rarity.   :eyes:

69_500

I see. I didn't even look at it on BJ's webpage. Just waited to see it on the auction block, but never saw it on TV. Was during a commercial break.

Thanks for the link, Chris - and it is one awesome car, no doubt!

Who is the high bidder now??  :scratchchin:

Holy Cow :o, is that Wakko from the site? I knew Cops had big money, but dang. Here's a  for bidding dude. 200K+... :icon_smile_tongue:

69_500

Are you serious, Wakko is  the high bidder? I don't even remember him doing much talking in the typical aero threads.

If it is true then congrats.

PocketThunder

i think he's just bidding for the fun of it.  Since he knows he hasnt hit reserve and would then not have to come up with the cash.
