Maybe this has already been up here and my apologies if it was, but I see there is a registry for 71 Chargers now too.

Is there room in your sig for a 71 registry?

Ghoste

I suppose I could fit it in where Dan's 68 Registry is supposed to go.  :D

Iron Chef

It's run by the same folks as the '71 Charger Super Bee and the Super Bee Registry sites (member Johnny Bee on this site).  Lots of good information to be found.  :2thumbs:
Most of your life should be "off the record."

I see the paint code saying FM3 is 70 only. We all know about Nick Taylor's pink 71 R/T is the only one in existence.

I know the car personally.

What, no 72 Charger registry ?  That bites.

Ghoste

Someone is bound to start one sooner or later. ;D

Just 6T9 CHGR

Looks like its for the R/T cars only?  Good looking site with a lot of nice info.  I like the searchable database feature....

Thanks for the kind words on the sites. I started the '71 Super Bee site back in 1990 and then the Super Bee Registry with Dave Wise in '92. Tim Wellborn and Kevin Bucheger asked me to start the '71 Charger R/T Registry at the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the '71 Charger. Both Kevin and I have been collection data on the '71 R/T's and Tim has a few him self :-). So I made the '71 R/T registry with all the data.  We do this all for free for the hobby.

To date no know FM3 '71 Chargers have been made. I too know of Nicks "Pink" '71 R/T, but his paint code is 148 and not FM3.

Would it be simpler to just have a single comprehensive 71 Charger Registry?

BB1

My bad, I've known Nick for 30yr and his Charger since he got it 25 years ago, I just call it pinkie.
He also had a 71 orange color bumper super bee, and a 71 purple R/T Charger as well.

Congrats on a super site, will be using it.

Would it be simpler?

Is it easier to do just one model over all six? Yes it is. It's kind of like, is it easier to maintain one car or six?  One is simpler to keep up and cost a lot less. It's all about time and money. After I did start the Super Bee registry (first '68-'71) and got it up and running, I did use parts from it to make the R/T registry and it was a little simpler to start, but it still took time and cost money.

These registries are live searchable online databases. I have to build the database then setup a SQL server, make the server read the data and re-write the code into a php file for users to search and read, then host it on a web server. I don't know who else is doing something like this for free.

I love the hobby and like supporting and helping others. If we could raise some money for my cost and efforts, I would be happy to support this project...

IMO the thing that kills the 71 bee is lack of louvered doors, which makes them easy to clone.  That's why I think the 72 Rallye's were the last of the "desirable 3rd gen Chargers.

Loved reading all the info. Learned alot but alas, mine is "only" a SE... :'(
