As of now our old buddy Ghoste has been credited with 9,918 posts or an average of 10.983 posts per day since he registered the same day I did a little over 2 1/2 years ago (still a lower average PPD than Bronzy). :o Only 82 to go, brother, and you'll be crowned the post master general of dc.com! Shouldn't he get a door prize or something, like the millionth customer at the sporting goods store? Or instead of "Old Timer" he should be called "Jedi" or something. I guess "Ghoste" is pretty apropos since that's kind of the next step beyond Old Timer. :2thumbs:

Then again it seems that when Ghoste gets a vacation, he tends to pop up those post counts as well.

I'm gonna guess here, just going out on a limb and Steve, feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I am thinking that the message that is trying to be conveyed to you is that you need to slow down, take a breath and think about what you want to post about, before you post it.
It should be about the quality of posts, not the quantity. Now, don't get me wrong, I also have numerous meaningless posts that use up precious bandwith but I try to even it out by adding some worth, at least that is my intent.
Look at it this way:
Picture yourself in the hallway at high school and it's 10:30 AM and the next class starts in 10 minutes. The hallway is a flurry of activity, students getting their books out, getting ready for class, girls touching up their make-up, some of the boys joking and laughing about nothing in particular. All the while, there are numerous, brief and to the point conversations going on amongst all of the students in the hallway. Groups of three to four students chatting quickly before they need to make their way to the next class.
Then out of nowhere, a girl shrieks "look out - Cody's coming" and like a Tasmanian Devil, you start swirling through the hallway, spinning around bumping into people, stopping at each and every group of students to add a comment to their conversation.
Two guys are talking about a movie they saw on the weekend, you stop by and add you're :Twocents: to the discussion. Across the hall are two chicks who are chatting about the science class they just had, you pop into their conversation and add nothing but a :drool5: at the sight of their tight sweaters. Then it's on to the next conversation, three lockers down, and so on and so on and so on.
It's really OK to stop into each conversation, or as is the case here, each thread - but don't feel you need to. If you must, think about what you want to add to the conversation and make a valid point. We all know you're here and we're glad to have you so you don't need to remind us every hour on the hour.
Don't get discouraged, no ones trying to run you off the board, just cool down a bit and think before you start hammering away on the keyboard.

I forget what board I was on the other day but I saw a member that had something crazy like 145,000 post, and I was thinking to myself. Does this person have a life at all outside of this board? I don't know how long that board had been up and running, but I'm going to have to say NO they don't. I think that I post on here way too much as it is, but it does put a smile on my face to know that I haven't been on here as much as some people. Granted I am always excited to get home from work and log on for my typical 25-40 minutes and catch up on everything I missed.
Whenever I post, I type everything out, then I go back and reread it, while asking myself "does this really contribute to the thread? And if it doesn't, is it really funny?" If the answer is no to both, then I click the "back" button, and read another thread.

yeah Chryco post a lot on the cudachallenger board. Got to hang out with him and Troy at Carlisle quite a bit last year. Something just isn't right for our Dodgecharger Troy to be with the Cuda's and Challenger people all weekend is it?

You probably know this but some people adjust their birthdate so it matches a specific engine size. For example, if today was your birthday you'd enter your birth year as 1625 to show your age as 383. Chryco either forgot to adjust it or he is now a fan of that early '60s Ford or Chevy big block.

Yeah I knew that you could adjust the year to come up with an age relating to an engine. Just think he needs to go back and update it again so that it goes back to the HEMI reading rather than the SOHC.

I'm gonna guess here that the some of the folks in charge have decided to start deleting posts that are tottally irrelevant, make no sense or are something they see as something that was posted to simply increase ones post count. Just guessing. :shruggy:
