Needless to say many of my original parts have been stolen and sold from this shop...also sold at numerous east coast shows. I would like to buy my parts back!!!!!!! I know it is a stretch but I am reaching out here.

ANY HELP??? I have been taken hard on this deal. If you have bought any of these parts or can help me replace please contact me....troy.johnson@wvc-ut.gov

I had problems with my resto here in Utah...Keith was great to get the car and start the work...HOWEVER...if anyone wants to see the pics you will know what I mean. What was said would be done was not, was was paid for was not done, most of the parts I sent were not used, and most of the stuff I had is gone.

3 year resto....waiting on legendary, blah blah....not sure what direction Kreative Customs is going...but what is left there is a sad sight indeed. I am out alot of money and alot of parts!

I am letting Keith and Kathy settle their differences, then I'll settle mine.

I know.....but now I'm redoing my resto, searching all over hell and back for replacement parts, and on it goes. My business in KY has not been concluded. Just need for them to sort out (in court) the "he said - she said" before I steam ahead!

this whole deal is going to get really ugly for a lot of people. i can't go into details right now but i had 2 R/T's there and i picked them up a week ago and they were shells, so far i'm looking at about $35000 lost not counting that only 1 shell is even buildable.  i won't rest until i get my money back or someone is in prison.

and I thought to myself I hope he got those out of there before sh!t hit the fan.

Good luck to both of you.

If you see any happy customers from the past in a post here or other forums, it's because they probably have yours, Trav's or many others parts.   :flame:   When doing something like this, it's easier to find the happy customers and get them to talk to you.   :icon_smile_wink:   Just don't let the happy customer know they may be a victim.   :icon_smile_cool:   I feel bad for you guys and hope you nail these guys.

I may have your visors, bought a blue set on ebay recently-

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200421431376&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_843wt_1095

If your research eventually discovers that this seller was involved in any way knowingly, I'll be happy to participate in the prosecution.
Even if these aren't your originals, they're in fine shape and may be a little darker than my interior anyway. Wifey say so...

Eric

Hm. Same seller...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-70-DODGE-CHARGER-GTX-CORONET-HEATER-CONTROL-68-69_W0QQitemZ200433848441QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2eaac9d079#ht_2081wt_1095

I remember a blue horn button going by, blue seatbelts and buddy seat too, I think...I bought a blue dash part for below the steering column also, that was the best part of a year ago. I still have that too, which I bought on a whim not necessity.

This is probably common knowledge, but just in case you don't know....

You can search Craiglist nation wide with a Google search:  Craigslist 1969 charger (or some combination of that - just make sure you include Craigslist, i.e. Craigslist mopar dash pad, Craigslist 383, etc, etc).

It doesn't pic up everything, but it may be an efficient way for you to keep tabs on your parts or replacement parts if they pop up on craigslist anywhere.

If this isn't common knowledge:  Damn, I should have PM'd you.

Good luck!!!!!

There is a pretty big swap meet set for the First weekend of March in Indianapolis. My Dad and a few friends of his will be selling there. I will tell him to pass the word. Most of those guys are like hawks when the parts are unloaded from the trailers.

www.searchtempest.com does the same thing only I would imagine it works a little better. It was created for the purpose of searching Ebay and CL on a widespread basis and you can uncheck the Ebay box if you want to search CL only. Here's an example of a nationwide search from my zip code: http://www.searchtempest.com/results.php?ebover=1&page=0&Region=na&citySelect=zip&catname=auto+parts&maxDist=50000&zip=97024&showeb=1&category=8&subcat1=ccc&subcat2=eee&subcat3=ggg&subcat4=hhh&subcat5=jjj&subcat6=ppp&subcat7=res&subcat8=pts&subcat9=bbb&addThree3=&minAsk4=min&maxAsk4=max&bedrooms=&minAsk6=min&maxAsk6=max&minAsk8=min&maxAsk8=max&search_string=1969+1968+Dodge+Charger&keytype=all&search_string_neg=

wheels must have come off in late 08 and 09.. i had 2 cars partially done there with no real problems. one car had new disc brakes installed, some interior done, etc. the other car had a new paint job put on it, new seat covers, carpet, etc. both done with no problems.. ah well lesson learned. i can't believe how some people can just not have a conscience for other people's money. it's one thing to not do the labor hired to do, but to steal all the parts and sell them/hide them? unacceptable.

Sorry to hear bout this type thing happening again guys, but the sad reallity is the worse this economy gets, the more and more I see this happening to good, hard workin' people....I don't build/restore cars for a living I just mess with them on the side for a few customers...I have done one '69 Charger R/T Clone front to rear for less than $2000.00....And had to paint it twice as I just knew the guy wasn't gonna like the job that was on it..I just finished a '69 RoadRunner for a friend in Wisconsin for less than $4000.00 start to finish...
Needless to say, I'm gonna have to go up on my prices cause they way I figure it, you are at least getting all the parts that came on your car back with it...
Charger (This was the days BEFORE AMD)
1. Replaced front fenders with fiberglass, removed at cust. request and installed metal fenders he bought that looked like they'd been run over, block sand and straighten said fenders.
2. R&R rear innner wheel wells, trunk ext., and trunk floor.
3. R&R rear quarters.
4. Straighten hood (Crunched in front)
5. Fill, Block sand doors as dent was right in the side scoops on BOTH doors.
6. Remove all glass and get quarter windows working (didn't work for over 14 Years)
7. Rewire and rebuild dash (Cust hooked battery up backwards)
8. Convert from console auto, to 4-speed.
9. rebuild 440 engine.
10. Install front disc brake, rebuild entire 8 3/4 rear.
11.Rebuild grille assy..
12. Install seat covers, carpet, door panels.
13. Pull trans THREE different times for cust. mistakes...(Wrong flywheel, crack in bell, trans supplied was bad)
14. PAINT rear R/T stripe on car.
15. Paint Car Twice..(Intense Blue)
All this for under $2000.00 cause he was a "Buddy"...and was worried SICK cause MY REPUTATION was on the car..I just can't see how these people are charging these HUGE prices and getting away with this kinda sh*t...I would NEVER even THINK of stealling anothers parts, let alone re-selling them!? This is just plain wrong..Go get 'em and remember that there are honest people out there that try to give you more than you think your getting....

Damn, sorry to hear it guys. Thats sucks. Its bad enough to lose money for labor or whatever is paid, but really what could be the excuse for all of the parts gone?Did they even have anything to say about that? I hope you act in time to get some satisfaction before its just a bankrupcy situation for that company and nothing for the victims. Hopefully there is criminal charges that can be done against them. I'll keep an eye open in Michigan for you. Sorry to hear it and good luck with it all.

I hate to say it but when I read these stories I feel better about the times I've been ripped off because (knock on wood) it hasn't been anywhere near this bad for me. And I don't know how you guys can manage a project when you're sending your cars to distant locations for resto work? It's been bad enough for me when the car was only a few miles from home. I've been screwed by people in my own town, even when I've checked the progress once or twice a week. You'd have to feel pretty helpless when you can't keep an eye on things.

:iagree:
Sorry to hear the bad news.
If not already done, you need to file a police report and call the FBI if you believe/have proof the parts went over state lines. If you put the squeeze on this guy right now, he may have the parts stashed and might pull them out to avoid a criminal charge. If you wait to long, he may tell to many lies to then risk pulling them out down the road. Hopefully, if you act quick, you can also find some of the employees before they scatter into the woodwork. The employees could be very helpful witnesses who could have seen the removal of parts and know the location/sale of parts. Your only power is to force the criminal charge if he does not produce the parts or if he doesn't repay the money.

Most criminal convictions can have a restitution clause attach which requires the party to repay the victims or you could even get money from a state victims fund. Go to the police with receipts/documentation etc, to show that this guy had possession of these items.

If the parts were stolen over the course of two/three years ago then the parts are most likely already gone. Waiting will make you a general creditor way down on the list and you'll most likely see nothing.  So I would say your only real play is to seek criminal action against this guy in order to get a chance at being repaid. :Twocents:

OBVIOUSLY BRILLIANT people! Thank God that people like this are too stupid to get out of their own way...it is a blessing. Nail them to the wall and then some. Sours a good thing!

Federal court, felony, screw the local jurisdiction.
In the communications age, everybody should become familiar with interstate wire fraud.

The real problem is how to get an attorney to take the case, since there is no hope of a large cash award for them to pursue.

I don't know of any Court house open on Monday. Check the date.

If you are from out of state then call the FBI and file a complaint. Call the US attorney in that area. Here is a link to the correct district office.  http://www.justice.gov/usao/kye/
US Attorney-Eastern District
601 Meyers Baker Road, Second Floor
London, KY 40741 (606)864-5523 (606)864-3590
As stated, if they did business seeking out of state business online, then it becomes a federal crime. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease.. :Twocents:

It seems awful fishy to me that victims of the Popes would be told NOT to show up in court. Are you sure those who called you are truly who they claim to be and not one of Pope's buddies trying to "throw you off the trail" so to speak? For those of us with cars in KY...I have talked to the state police, the county attorney, and the commonwealth attorney. They are indeed taking the information of those involved, the losses, and what has and has not been going on. They are (as one post earlier intelligently put it) in the information gathering stage. They have taken an interest...however the only court proceedings going on right now are related to their separation/divorce.

So if you are one of those mentioned above....keep in touch with the Commonwealth DA's Office.

Troy/ Utah

And thank you to those of you that have tried to help locating parts...and those of you willing to sell parts to help get these cars back on the road!  You are appreciated! There are lots of great people on this site!      :yesnod:

That would be one of the things I would be doing now.   Now that this is coming out on here and there are several complaints, this is a good time to let his contacts/venders know what's going on.   They will want NOTHING to do with anyone in question and quickly detatch themselves from him.  Give them this link and ask them what they know about this or what part they have in this.   We know the venders have no part in this but by asking them, it will make them look into it more so and step back from him.   Start cutting off his connections for business.    :yesnod:   DO NOT SLANDER HIM OR TELL YOUR LONG STORY.   THEY WON'T CARE !  Show NO emotion and ask a few questions as if you are investigating them.  Just play dumb, let them know their name is connected and make them aware is all you need do.    :icon_smile_wink:

Hi guys. Well according to this topic looks like Mr. Pope got arrested by the Sheriff's Department on March 7.
http://www.topix.com/forum/city/london-ky/TC90541DKA7562GV3
Looks like he frauded someone else from Denmark for two 440 stroker engines. I could possibly see international charges for him as well. Anyways, it's been a while since I have been to London since I am from there but, it's just crazy something like this coming out the area he is in because the area his shop operates isn't anywhere near the small city per say. Just crazy.

Just crazy.

Looks like it was 70 Hemi Cuda above.

Yeah, he will. I know there is some very angry people with him now per the topic link I posted. Rather or not they will get their money back or not is a different story. I know the KSP had been investigating this for a while.

i don't think he's in jail. the sheriff's department "putting him out" most likely refers to when she had him kicked out along with divorce papers a couple months back, about a week before i went to pick my hulks up. The post just happens to be on march 7th, my guess is he's still laying low somewhere.. hoping and praying..

I don't know. But, I will say this. If for some odd reason they didn't arrest him then I will say that the local law enforcement will have to answer to the folks up in Frankfort eventually or certain individuals. The only thing is if you remember the case of the census worker that was killed a while back was in Manchester which isn't too far from London. If the court system don't get him then I think someone like the killers of the census worker will. Like I said from what I saw in that post on the other forum he's got more than the law to worry about. He'll get his either way for taking advantage of those who trusted him.

As you think of it write down the parts that was liberated. When you write your letters write it as you would like to say it in court. Only facts not hearsay or they will not be able to use it in court. You want every fact to be heard. "It has come to my attention that I am not alone in this treatment". However this is what was done to me...every factual account will be able to be used against him. One word of hearsay and the WHOLE account can be thrown out. I wish everyone here that has lost so much one amazing case and most if not all counts made to stick! So they rot in jail.

You know I thought of that myself but, I guess to make a stronger case you would want some type of charges to stick first then proceed. On the other hand if Mr. Pope is going through a divorce then his wife will get everything. After that you're taking blood from a stone. Although, I do have to ask if his wife any knowledge of what was going on?

The only problem is you would have to prove the parts were yours from the perspective of legal things. Unless you had things marked with an id or photos it is a lost point unfournately.

Post by: jeryst on March 15, 2010, 07:18:44 PM
As long as nobody does anything, this guy will just keep doing it.

Contact the District Magistrate for his area and explain the situation.
He should be able to give you advice.

I once hired a guy to do some work on my roof. He asked for half up front, and the rest upon completion. That's
standard around here. Well, he kept putting me off, never showing up, giving excuses, etc. After about 3 months
of this crap, I called the District Magistrate and asked for advice. I did not mention the name of the guy. I just explained
the situation. He told me to give the guy one final call, and tell him that if he didnt show up, I would be able to file
charges against him. I called him, told him what the Magistrate said, and he was there within two days to do the repairs.

I dont know about KY, but here, you can sue anyone at the magistrates office and it costs less than $50. If the magistrate
is willing to help, tell him that you would like to have a conference call with him that would include others that this guy has ripped off, then
get your plan together. The Magistrate is there to hear cases exactly like this: Complaints from one person against another.
Kind of like a Judge Judy type of thing.

I am very willing to bet that one or more of his employees will turn on him in order to get a plea bargain, or to avoid charges
if the shit starts to hit the fan. This is theft by deception, and everyone involved will be considered accomplices. His workers
will know that if he goes to jail, they will lose their jobs anyways, so they will turn on him to keep themselves out of trouble.
You may even be able to find a former employee that he hosed, that would be willing to support your claims.

At this point, it looks like this guy has ripped off a lot of people, so you guys just need to do something about it. If the Magistrate
starts getting calls from all over the country, and even other countries, he's going to give some weight to your claims even if you
dont have any written proof.

This a personal jab at Travis, he too is a crook just like the lying little varmint that has screwed ya'll.  Bet he never thought he would hear from me again.  Surprise!!!!!!!!!!!   Back in 2006, Travis was selling parts on ebay.  I contacted him and asked him if had a good a/c dash for sale.  He said yes, and to send him the cash.  I sent him a check for a hundred and something dollars, and he sent me back a..........  get a load of this crap - a bent up, rusty, non a/c dash.  The thing was a total piece of crap.  When I contacted him about the dash he pretty much told me I was sol.  I told him I was going to take his butt to court over it, and he laughed at me.   He said to go ahead, it would cost me more than dash was worth.  Granted he was right, so I ended up tossing the dash and purchasing one from someone else.  I do know one thing Karma is a b****, if ya'll catch my drift.   Back in 2006 I was very new to the hobby, and as many of us newbies known find out, there are many people out there that will clearly try to screw your eyeballs out.  Granted two wrongs don't make a right, but after reading Travis's thread about getting a good screwing I could not help but chuckle. Sucks, eh Trav???

if it makes you feel better/sleep better at night knowing i got taken for $50k, more power to you.  i've had thousands of transactions with hundreds of people on here and ebay over the years. my reputation speaks for itself. you're welcome to type in "69charger2002" on ebay and do a search.. i've had that account since jan. 2002.  with just a handful of neutral negative feedbacks over the years.. impossible to make everyone happy 100% of the time on 40 year old parts. i honestly don't remember the details of this transaction to even attempt to defend myself. it's been 4 years, and i've sold a million things since then If you think i screwed you i apologize, that's not what myself or this hobby is about... but a crook i am not

Hey Cooter, Please give me a call if you intend to do any more work. 859-396-9684, Thanks, JYS

Since you live in the area, have you looked lately? There's nothing left and the owners here don't have their stuff or anything they've paid for so where did it go? If Keith is concerned with libel/slander then let him deal with it. As far as I can tell you've got nothing useful to add (not the first time either).

If you know something or where these parts are you better start talking. (2) Did you help move these parts ? ? ? (3) Are you the one that has them and not Keith ? ? ? (4) Do you know WHO has the parts ? ? ? (5)  Other than the fact that you "may" like Keith, what proof do you have ? ? ? (6) What is your cut out of this ? ? ?

Don't take anything for face value. Maybe you should re-read what I was wrote and then take note of the little emote that follows it.

WARNING! Long Winded Post!

Interesting thread with a few similarities of what had happened to me in the late 1980's at a restoration shop. I know there are variations in the laws from state to state, but I do believe that this guy, & possibly his wife, can be sued, arrested, & charged, both corporately & personally. I also agree with what Skip said, you have to plan things out in advance, be patient, & don't make waves & attract lots of attention.

Contacting the media & such is a Hollywood thing, you may as well be a guest on Jerry Springer if you go that route. Yeah sure, it's a great service to the hobby to want to help others & alert them so they too, aren't a victim, but you don't want to alert the person who screwed you that you are actually doing something about it. It gives them a much greater chance at getting rid of any evidence & burying paper trails that will incriminate them in court.

When I was ripped off by a shop, it was for shoddy workmanship, work that was promised & never completed, missing parts, & also for construction work I did in the building & was never paid for. I was lucky enough to have a very good, & very thorough lawyer who took my case on contingency. That means he doesn't get paid unless money is collected from the person who screwed you. If I had collected any money, his portion was 1/3 of whatever I got. It may be difficult to find someone to take the case this way, but it is possible.

The only fees I had to pay out of pocket were filing fees in court & a few other expenses, like property searches, DMV searches to see what is in their name, & judgment searches to see if there were cases brought against him prior to mine. The reason for the judgment search is to help build your case & to see where you stand in line to collect money. In my case, there were $250,000 worth of judgments against the shop already. For him to stay in business & have that many suits against him meant he was judgment proof.

He lived in a luxury high-rise, co-op apartment, overlooking the Hudson River & drove several classic cars, including a 1957 Eldorado Biarritz. (Google that one to see how rare it is.) The co-op was in his wife's name, & the DMV searches showed he didn't have one single vehicle in his name. If I recall, he sold cars on consignment, so he may have driven the ones he was trying to peddle & had just claimed they were his.

There are other things you can do to help, like keeping very good records of all contact. Contracts, conversations in person, by phone, & by email. Receipts of everything you ever bought for the car that is stripped along with photos. When the court date comes, be prepared for the accused to be a "no-show" that day. The guy I sued, William (Bill) Losse of Fort Lee, NJ, proprietor of Past & Present Automotive in Closter, NJ, didn't show.

The Judge listened to my story, looked at receipts, photos, & the papers my lawyer had, & awarded me the judgment against the shop, as well as against William Losse personally. The reason my lawyer said I can sue him personally, was because he represented his shop to be able to perform certain tasks that were not possible. The judgment against him personally was a civil case & will not expire. If any assets turn up at a later date you can put a lien on them to collect what is owed to you.

It's been over 20 years in my case, & I had moved out of state, bought a house, & pretty much gave up on trying to collect. Out of pocket I lost about $4500 for work on the car & building materials in his shop & will have to redo whatever was done to the car. Who knows what it will cost in today's prices to correct his shit work on my Satellite convertible? The total judgment was just over $13,000 & I never saw a penny. I could have pursued it further & had him subpoenaed to prove he has no assets. My lawyer said he wouldn't show up for that either, but then a warrant would be issued for his arrest. If I was still living in NJ at the time & had the money to file & do all that, I would have, just to be there when he was arrested & enjoy seeing the look on his face while he was cuffed.

The whole process is slow going, but if you play by the rules & don't get caught up in emotions, it more than likely will play out in your favor. You also have to make sure you spell people's names correctly, file suit against the correct company name, & also make sure you know who's name the company is in. Sometimes a company will vary in name by the title having "Inc." or "LLC" or whatever, after the name. Doesn't seem like much, but in court it does. Spelling something wrong, or choosing the wrong company name, & the process starts all over wasting more & more time & money in legal fees.

Good luck.

So basically, you spent $4500 to collect $13000 that you never saw a penny of. That's encouraging. No wonder the scum do what they do. They dont get punished.

In one respect that's what I did, but don't forget that I also got the chance to have my ragtop screwed up & still needing 2 quarters to be redone again as well as a few other issues. I also got to do some construction work in the shop that was probably torn down before it was ever used by the new tenant.

My real point though, was that not everyone will be judgment proof like the guy I sued. In my case the fire department shut him down for various violations he never corrected. It was probably the last straw that got him to walk away from a failing business. I had found out later on from a person that had worked for him, that he purchased a reputable restoration shop but didn't know how to run it & screwed over a lot of people in the process.

Yes, people can keep reopening businesses with new names & screw more unsuspecting people, it's inevitable. Every once in a while someone will get caught, & the system will work if you're patient. On a smaller scale, I had won 2 other cases & collected on both. One was $700 for a transmission from a person I bought a car from who was supposed to have replaced a set of transmission lines, but only sectioned in a small piece causing the crushed section to burn up the trans. The other was some a-hole who sold me my garage doors & shorted me on $200 worth of hardware I had receipts for & ignored me for months.

I have a great winning record in court over almost 30 years, I'm 3 for 3. Too bad I only collected small pennies twice.  :smilielol:

I have a very similar story, my money was taken, no work was done, went through court (for which he never showed also), won, etc etc but in the end got nothing other than the judgement that would show up against him on any credit/load/application-related dealing he would ever do.  The problem there is, since these guys tend to be more clever than we think, they put all assets in other peoples' name, do cash-only transactions, and even bank under someone else's account, so they don't care.  Since I could never find where he banked (or even lived since he used PO Boxes), there was nothing to win.  Just justice and piece of mind.  Sadly, as with subcontrators, they basically have you by the balls if the want to, and it's damn near impossible to win unless you have everything in writing, photos and a good paper trail to prove a criminal act (like fraud, theft, injury, etc).  A class action would seem to be the best course, because the stakes get bigger, and makes the payoff better for the lawyer(s).  Then they are more likely to go the extra mile to get something.  The key is they have to have assets and/or income to win anything, though.  My summary is, be ready to spend money for the justice, but not likely to see any of your money returned.  Good luck!

I feel sorry for anyone that gets screwed on a restoration project i cannot stress to potential customers of my friends resto shop to make shure you check out current and past projects, get references phone numbers and actually call the customers that have had cars done there if the shop is reputable they will provide you with many names and phone numbers ask questions like how much an hour do you charge does that include materials and labor whats the specifics ask how its billed different shops have different billing cycles and practices my friends shop also sends you current photos of work performed with the bill and you are more than welcome to show up at any time to check on your car the main thing is how much do you percieve that i will spend restoring my car and how long will it take from start to finish my friends are the best in the country they have won 5 oe gold awards at the mopar nationals in the last 5 years they charge 65.00 an hour plus parts and materials and the average restoration is to expensive for most of us.thats where the problem is most of us do not have 100,000.00 laying around to get our cars done so we find alternatives like the afformentioned shop thats why i say references references references  family problems or not business is business and what this shop did is wrong and if you prove that he actually sold your parts he need to be punished to the full extent of my baseball bat i mean law not really

FYI  best mopar restoration shop in the country Paul Jacobs Troy Angelly restorations in southern Indiana and Illinois

So this is the thread that Troy was tellin' me about. man, what a shame!

At least Troy (Troy_Utah) is finally getting his baby back in shape. the car is almost ready to be fired up. I just barely finished re-building the Carter AVS that will adorn his newly re-built 440. he told me about the trials & misfortunes that he encountered with this Kentucky clown (no offense Kentuckians). I can't believe this guy hasn't been locked up. what ever happened to GRAND LARCENY????  last I heard it was "illegal" to screw people over like that!  :flame:

Well, if its not illegal to screw people over, then it may not be illegal to screw people up.

I have one simple solution base on what someone else here mentioned. Why dont all of you just report your cars stolen? Then you can tell the police, insurance companies, whoever, that the last place it was seen, was at this clowns place of business. Your cars HAVE been stolen, y'know.

Found out it was one helluva chop shop!!!!!!! Kieth has been lucky, I haven't ran into him yet, but I will. I know its not the thing to do, but ask yourself what would you do if someone takes over 60,000.00 of your money, destroys a good running car that you dropped off, and puts you through this hell that just continues on.  :flame: I do not know of any other means of justification. I know several victims have been communicating, but I think we all really need to access the situation and get together. My lawyer has not officially filed suit, I am still hoping for a completed car and it is moving.......s l o w l y.  I have been contacted by a few victims of this mess, if any of you are willing, I will pay my lawyer to represent us all.  I have been out a lot of money but fortunately I can spend twice as much to put this mother f er away. :yesnod: It just isn't right that he get away with it.   :fireangry:

Why doesnt someone contact the Media Circus? (IE, local TV...)
In Cincinnati we have the I-Team, (WCPO) that investigates this sort of thing for the local ABC affiliate. and they have a load of stations nationwide that all work together on scams an fraud issues.

Because that town is about the size of Main Strasse (< 6000 residents). I doubt they even have a local TV station or newspaper. Lexington is ~75 miles away and I doubt the media there would bother.

Troy,

Is there any chance this is your car, its not far from lexington, and lexington is about an hour away from london.  69's dont show up a whole lot in lexington unless they are selling for big bucks.  This is Blue and it dont have a title.  I could be jumping to conclusions but thought I would pass it along. I know how KY can be about classic cars so I think I am just looking at this within the realm of possibility.

" Keith Pope, 51, c/o Kreative Customs, 177 Collins Lane, London, seven counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of $300 or more. Pope allegedly took money and car parts from six different people over a period of nearly four years."

With the magnitude of this, I'd be scared of making threats.   One of the many people he's shafted is liable to silently settle the score one night.   :shruggy:

Regardless, if someone ever did get in trouble for old school justice, with the system we have that person would end up in more trouble & tried way quicker I bet.   :eyes:

This guy reminds me of "alisher" on ebay AKA the Ebay Grinch who stole Christmas several years ago.  Alisher ripped off over $100,000 from unsuspecting buyers before fleeing the country.  To this day he has NOT been apprehended.  A LOT of children were sad that Christmas morning because their parents had no more more money for ipods.  But there are warrants galore waiting for him when he is finally found from victims who banded together against him.

I know that feel.  Out of high-school, someone took me for about 10K, and got my first car stolen.  After everything in court, I got two cheques.  The first being 7.31$ the second being 5.28$, that's it...  A fraction of a percent.  In situations like this, the justice system just doesn't work.  Unfortunately something more barbaric is in order, it's just never worth it to stoop to that level.

That being said, should I ever run into him in the dark of night with no one around, all bets are off...

All the best to those who got shafted.  Unfortunate when those "Stand up people" turn out to be scum...
