Just an update i ended up using 1 of my originals and found another second hand original which was also good but not after the great mistake.Yes the aftermarket junk i purchased a set and not to say they are totally useless as they come with ball joints and bushes but here's the catch. As mentioned prior i had genuine nos ball joints & some decent usa made bushes. So here's me trying to make caviar out of frog shit by removing the ball joints & bushes out of the repop arms only to find out both nos ball joints & bushes don't fit correctly by that i mean loose as a potato sack so another words these repop arms are okay to use if your happy to replace the whole arm every time a bush or joint wears and by the look of the quality that's very close in the near future but unfortunately this is the future

Way to go, man.   :2thumbs:
I don't recall which engine you have. How big is the cam? It looks like the cam and lifter failures are more likely with the cams that require much stiffer springs. I have 5 old fashioned flat tappet engines in cars out back and the only one that has eaten cams is the one with the most cubes and biggest cam.
I've asked around on the forums and raked in some good advice regarding cam and lifter longevity.
Dwayne Porter is a guy in Vermont that has chimed in several times to say that you can do everything right and still munch a cam but....he deals almost exclusively in higher performance stuff. It isn't the cam itself that is the main fault, it is the lifters and the taper on the bottom of them. There are a few machinists that rebuild and regrind USED lifters to the proper taper. Dwayne was the one that blamed the oil I was using on my cam failure in 2022. I switched to a synthetic that claimed to have added ZDDP but being an emission compliant blend, it also had HIGH detergent. The detergent acted like a squeegee, wiping off the zinc as fast as it splashed it on, making it worthless.
I don't mean to be a wet blanket here. I'm willing to let bygones be just that as long as you play nice too. I do hope that this works out for you. If you get a chance, take a video, post it to YouTube and post it here to share.
Good luck, man!

Installed a new flat tappet cam using exact guidelines from Hughes Engines. Got about 80 miles on it and no issues.

If a deal seems to good to be true, trust your instincts.
Summit Racing Equipment

Beware of Websites Posing as
Summit Racing Equipment
To Our Valued Customers,

We have been made aware of fraudulent websites posing as Summit Racing Equipment and offering products at heavily discounted prices in an attempt to scam consumers.

We have a team working diligently to identify and shut down these fraudulent sites, but new sites can easily pop up overnight, and we want to make sure you use caution when shopping online.

The scammers are using our logo, product photos and descriptions, company information, etc. but they are not affiliated with Summit Racing Equipment in any way. We have also received reports that there are social media ads and emails advertising these "incredible deals" or a "warehouse sale."

If you see a deal that seems too good to be true, it is. Please check the URL of the website or verify the email address of the sender carefully. Some common tricks among scammers include using a different domain (not .com), adding words or dashes to the company name in the URL, or slightly misspelling the company name. Emails may look like they are coming from a legitimate business but upon inspection of the sender's address, you will find something totally different.

Unfortunately, this is a common practice, with scammers posing as a company and targeting unsuspecting buyers before moving on when it is no longer easy to get sales. Please check URLs carefully any time you shop online and check the sender's email address if you receive an irresistible offer.

Our website remains secure—you can continue to buy with confidence when you are shopping at SummitRacing.com, using our mobile app, or shopping on eBay at our storefront (seller name: summitracing_sales).

If you have any questions or concerns, our U.S.-based sales and customer service team is happy to help you.

Thank you,
The Summit Racing Equipment Customer Care Team
