Here's the factory specs: If you'd like it to shift a little later, lengthen the top rod by screwing the slotted rod end (#1 in the diagram) out.Shiftspeeds.jpgLinkage.jpg

Congress Rescinds California's Ability to Set Its Own Emissions Standards
The ruling—which will also affect other states and the District of Columbia that follow California's standards—is decried by environmentalists and praised by SEMA.

The US House and Senate just passed legislation that would eliminate California's and other states' rights to set their own emissions standards.
The legislation now goes to president Trump for signature.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act also appears to eliminate the EPA and NHTSA's ability to enforce emissions laws, another concern to environmentalists.
California used to be able to set its own emissions standards above and beyond those set by the Federal government. It was a provision of the Clean Air Act, signed into law by republican president Richard Nixon. But not anymore. The house and senate passed sweeping legislation yesterday axing, among many other things, the Golden State's ability to create tougher standards for cars, trucks, SUVs, and even weed whackers. The president is expected to sign it into law.

It's not just a West Coast Story. California's tougher emission standards were followed by nearly a dozen other states and the District of Columbia, so it has nationwide effects. Along with language in the bills that appears to wipe out standards set by the EPA and even NHTSA, the legislation will have a direct affect on clean air across the country.

If I need to buy material to make the clamp, I might as well just buy the clamp. My free time is also limited so I can't waste too much of it.

While we're on the subject of intermittent wipers, I caught the movie Flash of Genius on TV a couple of weeks ago.
It's a few years old but still entertaining.

"The story focuses on Robert Kearns (played by Greg Kinnear) and his legal battle against the Ford Motor Company after they developed an intermittent windshield wiper based on ideas the inventor had patented."

If you liked the spring retainer, why not make your own? I did that with some 3/16" welding rod.
Your pull to the right is due to the caster difference.
