It's working on high and low so I think it's just worn out

I'm only putting the shoulder belts in the left and right side. The middle belt will remain stock.
I attached the end of the belts to the stock location near the floor.

The anchor bolt was this design.

Note the area of the shank above the threads where the size is bigger. I had to grind the unthreaded area down to allow the bolt to slip through the bracket at the end of the belt. It works though.

Both sides are bolted down, the belts extend and retract normally.

This car was the test mule. I will do this upgrade to other cars in the future. I will need to cut holes in the package tray for the plastic belt guides...

So far, ONE car can be done for under $100 in materials including two sets of seat belts from the junkyard for $75, sheet metal for the mounts and a few nuts, bolts and washers.

The left side needed to be cut back to clear the diagonal brace.

DC RB 45.jpg

It fits and will sit about 1/4" below the package tray deck.

DC RB 46.jpg

Laying on my back in the trunk, I plug welded through the mount to the trunk divider panel.

DC RB 47.jpg

The mount is slightly out of plumb but there is some room to adjust the retractor to get it just right.

DC RB 48.jpg

The retractors attach to the mount using a Nylock nut. Simple.

The horizontal slot is wide enough to slip the belt, buckle and mount right through.

It is sad to scroll down to see a thread like this and NONE of the forum members that posted are active here anymore.
Yeah, it is a thread from 2018 but still.
The Mayhem Charger....
I'm glad to see that it was returned to it's former theme. The Hellcat engine took away from the ratty dirt tracking fun the car had from the start.
The shop (Diversified Creations?) that did the Hellcat conversion sure did a hack job on the car. Former DC.com forum member Chris Birdsong had a LOT of time in the rebuilding of the body and structure of this car.

Government moves at the speed of smell most of the time. THIS is one of those times.
There are all sorts of bits of legislation floating around that look to affect us in the hobby but with the current shutdown, that stuff isn't a priority.
The diesel truck legislation is something that indirectly affects us all. Everything we eat, wear, drive and use comes from somewhere on a big rig. When the regulations drive up operating costs, the price of everything shoots up.
Have you seen the recent reports of driver's licenses handed out to those that are not qualified to drive a Red Flyer wagon? Numerous drivers that can't speak English at all. Numerous drivers with licenses that read NO NAME GIVEN where the name is supposed to be.  How can anyone defend this with a straight face?
If you can't speak or read the language, you can't read a road sign, a warning announcement, the traffic reports on the radio will be worthless and in the event of being stopped by the Police, they can't communicate.

I have been doing some casual observation of people and their manners when around others.
With as critical as I have been of others, I have also paid more attention to how I present myself. The conversation manipulators are more common than you might think.
I have made it a habit that if I want to talk about something, I ask those around me if they have ever dealt with/seen/experienced/heard what I am bout to say. Now, this is just an opinion but to me, a conversation is more engaging if it is relatable.
My Wife was never one to hog the air time but she also wasn't one to pry by asking many questions.
We differ there. I'll ask people where they are from, their profession, hobbies and interests. I like it when others ask me questions so I naturally thought it was the same with most others.
With Mary, it is not that way. She says that most of the time, people seem to blurt out far more than she cares to hear so asking questions is likely to make it worse.
