I'm right dab smack in the middle of Route 66.  Not too much of it left.  You'll be lucky if you can find an original sign.

Route 66 isn't what everyone makes it out to be.  It might be a big deal in some places, but not in others.  The Route is marked out with historical signs though.  So is the Lewis and Clark trail.  The Hot Rod Power Tour seems to be the biggest Route 66 event there is.

I drove route 66 in AZ. a couple of years ago, dead towns, out business gas stations and pot holes. Too bad the super highways took over.

That's the way it is here in MO.  At least until you hit I44.  If you want part of the old 66, you have to hit 96 and go through Carl Junction.

What part of MO do you live in, North, South, etc? The show God, Guns & Automobiles show the town of Butler. Looks like a nice area.
