Yes, it should.  I used 255/60/15's on an R/T and those would rub under certain conditions depending on how low I had the torsion bars cranked.  275's should be fine.

Isn't that backwards? If the 255s rub the 275s will definitely hit.

A 275/60-15 on an 8" wide wheel with 4.5" backspace is very common on the rear of a 2nd gen Charger. Most people (it seems) run a 235/60-15 or 235/70-15 on the front - which also fits in nearly every case (the 70 series is nearly identical in size to the rear while the 60 would provide a slight rake). I know I have seen on this site someone with 275s on front but I'd think everything would have to be carefully measured and positioned exactly.

If you want equal sizes all around then I'd shoot for something in the 245 range.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I would like to have all four corners the same, but not a must if shorter fronts look better.  I would love to here what others are running on there C500 or Daytona.

15x8 rear, 15x7 front, BFG RTA 255 70s rear for 29" to give best highway w/ 3.23 rear, and 225 70s front. No rise in rear. Symmetrical look, difference in front not really noticeable. Will give pics if you need.

My 500:

15x8 with BFG 275/60/15 rear. 15x7 with BFG 245/60/15 front.

I have also run 255/50/16 on 16x8 all around.

275 on the front always gives problems with B-bodies.
I would go 7 inch rims on the front with 255 max myself.
275 60 15 is coolio on the rear.
IF A JOB's WORTH DOING, ITS WORTH DOING WELL, RIP DAD.

Apparently so.   :icon_smile_blackeye:

My experience with 255's on 15x8's (don't remember the backspacing) was that they really didn't rub on the frame that I recall, but one tire did catch the front lower corner of a fender when going through a driveway "dip" and folded up the corner of a fender.  A few cranks on the torsion bars and it seemed to alleviate the problem, plus that was likely an uncommon terrain problem.  Rears were fine.

YMMV

My experience with 15X8 all around was the front wheels were so close to the upper control arm, the balancing weights would hit. Best to use 15x7 up front. :Twocents:

I should have stated for the rear. I would think the front would need less meat. I kind of have a soft spot for cars with a bit of a rake to them.  :drool5:

I would look at the tires/wheels thread for pictures to see what they look like.  There are a few with 255 60 15 on all fours on there.

I am running 255 60 15 rear and 245 60 15 front (both 15 x 7).  I ran 15 x 8 275 60's and I thought they were big (looked a little like a hot wheels car).  My goal was slightly understated - but it is difficult to be understated with these cars.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Before you purchase tires, check the mfg's specs, tires will vary in ACTUAL size somewhat from mfg to mfg in the same size profile, esp in thread width, as well as overall carcass width, I run either F60-15 Polyglass GoodYear repros on 15X7 Ralleys with stock 4.25 back spacing for show use, or for street use, GoodYear Eagle GT radials 255/60/15 up front and 275/60/15 rears on stock 15X7 Ralleys with 4.25 back spacing, no rubbing issues front or rear on my 70 Daytona

moparstuart

255's rubbed on mine so i went 235's up front and 275's in the rear
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

I know my Charger is not a C500 but ..... I have on the rear: 275x60x15 Nitto extreme drag radials on 15x8 Cragars and:  225x70x15 B. F. Goodrich Radial T/A's on 15x7 Cragars.  Slight rake to it and it looks and drives great.  I would imagine a C500 would look great also !

For rotation capability, I like to use 255/60R/15's all the way around. For a tougher looking stance, I like the 255's up from and 275's in the rear....

Below is the 255's on 15x8's up front and 275's on 15x10's........

I like the look of the BFG TA radials, but considering Goodyear indy 500s or coopers :brickwall:  I like having one size for rotating but I dont put that many miles

Diamond Back Classic Radials.

Here's a link to my local Ontario (about 90 miles away) dealer that carries their line... and you can click the catalogue link and go through the available versions and tire sizes.

Their pricing is US $'s... so might get lucky and the true source is closer to you than me!  :scratchchin:
