Super weird front valance light issue?

Trying to get drivers side valance light to work and having issues..hers what I got:
- de-pinned wires, cleaned terminals and bulb fitting
- when connected directly to battery light assembly works fine
- I'm getting 9.8v at wire harness
- when connected to harness..nothing

Is 2.2v enough to make light not work??

Light bulb should just be a bit dimmer.

Exactly...and on the pax side I get right at 10 volts (car off) and works but dim. And if I plug the drivers side in to the pax side...it doesn't work??

I'd cycle all the switches several times then check connections and ground continuity. Unplug connectors a clean the contacts and don't forget the bulkhead connectors.

On my '71, the repaint was blocking the ground path between the light housing/front valance and the fender/body. Instead of scraping paint, I added a jumper ground wire from the housing to the body.

When you measure the voltage at the socket, what are you using for a ground for the voltmeter? Rule #1 in auto electrics, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY GROUNDS
