I am trying to find out where factory mounted 1970 Charger hood pins were located at. I am trying to get it right the 1st time and not mess up.

If you look on the hood on the under side of the inner frame work you will see an opening that allows the hood pin to pass through but you still need to drill a hole in the outer shell

Have a look where it lines up on the rad support and there will be a bolt that you swap out for the hood pin stud

Thanks guys!

For a painted surface would it be better to drill the hole from the bottom or drill from the top? The paint on the hood is not show car great but I still would like to minimize the chipping.

The way I was told to mark it was to put the pins on the car and then drop the hood to make a little dimple in the right spot then drill up from the bottom

Do not drop the hood from wide open  Just enough to make the mark

After you drill the hole even if it does chip the paint a bit there are the chrome washers that get mounted with 4 screws that go around the hole so the clip on the cable does not scratch the paint
