Can I get the date of manufacture from my fender tag?

You can get the specified production date....but I don't think that it guarantees that the car was built on those dates.

1) 68 tag - SPD of May 15th, 1968
2) 70 tag - SPD of April 15th, 1970

yup you can.....

its on the second to last line (well on 69s). It should be a 3 digit number. Mine is 620. Hope that helps!

Thanks guys. I have a 72 Charger Rallye, and in that spot on my tag, it says A15. Is that April 15?

October 15th, 1971.

My fault, I should have clarified.

8 - Aug.
9 - Sept.
A - Oct.
B - Nov.
C - Dec.

I assume they use A, B, and C in order to keep the code only three digits... ;)

Awesome, I see. So, I assume in the new year they just went back to the single digits, and letters at the end of the year again. Cool, didn't know that. I'm looking at importing another car from the States and the border needs date of manufacture and I'm not sure if the car I'm buying has the door decal, but I know it has the fender tag. Thanks.
