The cars look good, nice photos. A photo of the Trans Am coming through that curve in the background would have been cool.  :yesnod:

Daytona R/T SE

I'm loving the Trans Am.

A 77 or 78 SE is my Eleanor.

I've had several Firebirds over the years, always wanted a Black and gold SE Bandit car.

Every time I find one I like or get close to buying one...

Something happens.

It gets sold before I get there...

Or I'm broke at the time...

Or the car turns out to be a pos...

Or it's on the other side of East Overshoe, Nowhere USA...

Or the worst one ...

That happened to me...

"THE" one I wanted and had been after for YEARS...

One owner rust free car...

Left my phone number...

Stopped and ask about it several times a year...

Called the guy every once in a while just to check in...

His wife worked with my wife and they talked all of the time...

"Nope!"  "Not for sale!"-"EVER!"

Then I get a call from a Friend of mine one day...

"Hey Man" Can you haul a car for me?

"Sure" "What is it'?

One of those "Bandit Trans ams"

Who? What? When? Where?

YOU BASTARD!!!

How much did you pay for it?

$800

:flame: :flame: :flame:

"Oh, and the guy blew the motor up, so I need you to fix it for me... We'll be hauling it over to your house"...

I haul it home, replace the motor, get it running, clean it all up looking and running nice...

I tell him "Hey! if you EVER want to sell that car... "I WANT IT" !!!

"Yeah, sure" "You bet"

"Thanks man"

:flame: :flame: :flame:

No money...

No offer...

:flame: :flame: :flame:

Didn't even hang around long enough to help clean up the mess... :flame:

And ALL of my beer is gone  :flame:

And he left the junk, locked up motor laying in a pool of oil in my garage... :flame:

A couple of months go by, I see the dude... "My Friend"

How's the T/A running ?

Oh yeah, That thing...

"I was sittin' in the bar one night and some guy came in and asked me if I wanted to sell it, so I did."

"I was sick of it anyway"...

'The A/C quit working"...

"And it used too much gas"

" Why"? "YOU didn't want it, DID ya?"

:flame: :flame: :flame:

Sorry for the Hi-jack, but I'd love to have one of those cars and they're always just out of reach for me...

30 + years and still looking  :-\

I found this one threw www.restoreamusclecar.com it has 88k original miles! Its mint just had a frame on restoration. It drives great but needs lower gears.

You always crack me up. :smilielol:

On another note, would you be interested in an unmolested/unrestored Bandit II car.  I know the owner really really well and he's been talking about selling it for the last 3 years and I keep talking him out of it, but the right price and it would probably go.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?
