Cant get headlight knob off, help troubleshooting too

72 Charger. Does the headlight knob thread off left to loosen? Don't want to break anything.

Also. Dash lights have never come on. I have cluster out. I should have continuity from contact that goes to orange wires to some other contact but I have none. Sounds like a bad switch right?

need to reach the switch from back of cluster and press a release button



Dash light, could be the rheostat on switch itself, or fuse... one of the top ones on fuse box drives the cluster lights ( can't recall which one )

Wow, never would have seen that one! Thanks for the help. Now I need to find a switch.

Sometimes while holding the button you have to push then pull, but it'll come out.

Switch p# is 3514427.  Same as B and C body through the 70's.
NAPA has them
