Dome light direction

...dumb question.

Which way does the bulb point on the dome light on a 68?  I just installed the headliner and don't want to install the dome light 180* in the wrong direction.

I think the bulb points forward (wire coming from rear), but let me know if this sounds right.

you are correct sir, the bulb faces front on both my '69 and '71 b-bodies..

eeeehm, not, I'm still right above the Equator LOL. I think I mounted at the same position than fact when I removed with socket to front and bulb toward rear, :shruggy:- will compare with one that I'm pretty sure never has been removed

I would say downward is a good start.Or is that too much of a smart a$$ remark.

definitelly my buddy has faced rear too.. and I remember allways has been in that way simply because the wiring cilps/straps are located toward front of roof frame beam so socket gets toward to front side.

It depends if you want most of the light to shine towards the dash or the backseat.  :rofl:
