Fear not, Hydrogen cars are on the way.   :icon_smile_wink:

If the oil exporting countries don't start to stabilize the price of oil....soon they will be serving it up for breakfast to their "constituents". One thing about supply and demand and free markets...as soon as the price gets to a point that make alternatives more cost effective, they may be priced right out of the market...

BTW...Chavez subsidises the price of gas in his country...that's why it's so cheep. Most of the ME contries do the same. When I was in Bahrain the price of gas was 25 cents....So all those extra $$$$$ we pay for a barrel of oil are helping to pay for their gas...I wonder how they would feel if the same were true with wheat.....

The bigest issue with the rise of oil prices is the devalue of the US dollar. The rise in oil prices are almost the same as the rise of gold prices.... :scratchchin:

Nacho you should buy stuff from the U.S. and pay in gas.   ;)

Tilar

And to think that I bitched and raised hell when it went to $0.65 a gallon. If I remember right, it was $0.29 a gallon when I started driving, and smokes cost me $0.34 a pack.  :RantExplode:

Gas ( and gas-oil ) prices are a BARGAIN down here due the Goverment subsidies. Since train rails are practically unexistant down here, and those what exist are to Iron Industries on the south ( Venezuela not only produces oil, also is a great source of Iron and Bauxite ), maybe that could be the reason to keep lower gas prices.

I agree that the American dollar is just getting lower as much as the gas is getting any higher.  IMHO America's internal inflation issue is much worse than the official statistics let on.
