Ok so I've seen 1 thread with a guy who did this and kinda said how he did it but im still confused! So its a SE but no vinyl top but its still has the opera windows. So its a hard top... The people who i've seen that have done it painted the opera windows and I don't know detextured it or some thing like that. Heres a pic from craigslist.

stop thinking a hardtop is a non vinyl car... hardtop is a NON B PILLAR POST setup ( simulated or functional ). Vinyl car is not a "soft top" car LOL.

all SEs are vinyl cars from factory and thats unvariable, then SEs without vinyl are modified.

There's one sitting just down the street from me... I don't know who owns it, but I figure it must be a member of the military since I've never seen them. It's a nice car, so I have been taking care of it while I'm in the area, keeping it covered up etc until the owner shows up or I have to leave the area, which ever comes first.

Wouldnt bondo show up later? Some on here said he used a sheet metal filler or something... Im looking at 2 73 chargers a se and rallye (no engine though) and a 74 se. Now for some reason i really like this look. There was something about the chrome on triple black that was... kinda different you know what i mean?        But it wasnt bad but i like this a little more.

yes, definitelly, specially because mostly of those parts are not welded, they are screwed and that gives some play on car vibrations. That's a reason why they got those inserts on SEs down the vinyl by default ,and hartops and coupes didn't got any kind of those inserts... to be hidden by the default vinyl already on package!

By the same reasons all 74s M07 coded cars ( opera without louvers ) ALSO GOT A REALL FULL VINYL TOP like part of package. You couldn't get separated opera frame glass insert from the vinyl top. The bondo or any filler will be noticeable sooner or later on paint through the years.

is like the fact all BB cars got 727 trannies ( doesn't exist 904 to BB ), or hemi or 6packs cars didn't got AC ( compressor doesn't fit )

Haha i liked the BB hemi ac info at the end. So no matter what i do it will show up? Im just curious. Rallyes are hard to find so i figure if i think this looks cool i will be something to look into

So can you paint the opera windows even if you dont sand them down? oh and what about the SE emblem on the side behind the opera windows? Would you need to remove the metal piece and put a new on in its place? or does the emblem come off?

I can't say for sure if they will allways show up sooner or later. Maybe yes, maybe not. Remember modern materials are better.

Rallyes can be hard to find, but you don't need a Rallye to get a hardtop, Rallye is not more than a package on a Hardtop or Coupe body

emblems are attached with pins and plugged in with fasteners mounted on panel like somekind of rawplug mounted on body.

as I told you on 3rd gen board... I think you need get focused on the car you want first and go for it. Not simply get what you have around handly. Be patiente.

Fill the priorities first of the model you want, then the body conditions, then the engine on it. etc...

Ok so I've been thinking and heres my plan. If I can figure out how to do what in the pic. But put a 6 pack scoop on it. Then I've got my car... Maybe minus the r/t simbol and the grill. Besides that, thats what I want. So heres my problem still. I dont know what to do and how to make the opera windows flush. I've been told 2 things. Bondo or sheet metal. When I say sheet metal I mean take out the fiberglass plate behind the opera window and put metal in or someting. See I never got told how that worked.... PISS ME OFF! But oh well.
