Allen is coming over Tuesday after I get out of the Hospital. (Old age sucks) If he is drinking Cam 2 we will crack a few!

I am off Saturday and if I have time after the Honey Do List that keep's growing.  :brickwall:

1 I hope to get the trunk open (air cleaner is in there)

2 Pull back the carpet and get the inside dry

3 Clean the crap out of the car.

4 Start cleaning up the motor.

5 With some luck (energy and time) pull the plugs and dump some Marvell Mystery Oil down the holes.

I will try to post some pictures if I get anything done! This would be a lot easier if I was single!  :scratchchin:

September 05 2005, that seems to be the last time I drove my Road Runner.  :'(

I started cleaning her out today and found a unfold Sunday Newspaper with that date on it. Found a bunch of other stuff, most of it went in the trash can I had next to her. Got the shop vac out and sucked some of the leaves, dead bugs and plastic bags that well fell apart when I touched them?

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-11-3_zps6211594b.jpg.html]

By the way, the door panels are in my garage.

Then I started to clean the dash and polish the Hurst Shifter. It had turned green, and that was depressing!  :-\ Used some 00 steel wool and it looks much better!  :2thumbs:

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-11-2_zpsb79d3427.jpg.html]

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-11-3_zps6211594b.jpg.html]

While I was cleaning the inside out I was testing the floor boards, they still all seem solid!  :2thumbs: Seems when I had the interior done in around 1985 while the seats where out I undercoated the insides to make the car a little quieter. Did the same to the trunk, so I have my fingers crossed!

Weather started sounding threatening so I stop sooner that I wanted to.  :shruggy: But I did take a few more pictures first. I did take time to clean one of the rear wheels with the 00 steel wool, with a little more effort it will look pretty darn good for a 15 year old wheel!

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-11-4_zps1d8cba65.jpg.html]

Seems I have a Mopar Eating Ant Colony in the trunk!  :shruggy: Remember the hole in the Sail Panel I spoke about that was not there ago 8 years ago?  :scratchchin: Today when I took a picture of said hole and watched watched all the little ant's crawl in and out!  :brickwall:

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-11-5_zps9b45c872.jpg.html]

They better not have eaten the Chromed Plated Ram Air Air Cleaner in the Trunk!  :RantExplode:

I have the right trunk key now, it is on the same chain as a working ignition key and by Snap On Tool Box key and I still cannot get it open!  :P Oh well, time to pull the rear seat, I am 99% sure I did not bolt it back in!  :2thumbs:

41 Husk will be by after I get home from work Wednesday, will be good to see my dear old friend and have a few Cam 2's!    Plus getting to crawl into the trunk!  :smilielol:

See you all later.

Cuda Ken, posting again!

Anyway, Allen is my only Mopar Friend that stopped by and tried to get the Mopar Fire Going again after I stopped running the body shop. Well it is light, and so am I.  :2thumbs:

Allen is coming by Tuesday so I hope to get some work done then.

Yep, that is Jim, he worked right behind my old shop.

One day Jim stopped by to look at my Charger. We started comparing notes on how had the bigger pieces of Crap to start with. Well finally Jim Won, his car was a bigger turd than mine. I asked "why are you fixing it"? That when Jim told me it was a Daytona, I then understood why.

yes that canadian Daytona Jim started with was one POS but it turned out beautiful , after he sold it  they took the A/C out of it and put it back to its original brown turd color   :icon_smile_big:

Glad you folks like the Mopar Train Stuff, but don't get me going to much about them! I was easily seduced by trains!  :shruggy:

The Mopar Fire has caught! Today after I got home from work, I worked on her some!  :2thumbs:

While it was not much, a remainder of what a mess the engine was in.

While cleaning the plug wires I found #7 was burnt/ cracked in a few spots and #2 spark plug boot was a little blister. Hooker Headers Super Comp headers are hell on #2 wire boots!  :brickwall:

Did find some bad chrome, mainly the water pump pulley. I all so found the start of a rust hole on the left inner fender under the bumper pad mount, well what I can I say, she is a old girl. All so found some flaking engine compartment paint, not bad concertinaing I painted the engine bay in back in 1985!  ;)

Cleaned one of the chrome plated hood hinges.

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/06-14-04_zps86551c51.jpg.html]

Hope the other side still looks as good after I clean it!

Plan of attack for Saturday besides drinking Cam 2   with Jim. Pull the intake and M/T valve covers. The M/T valve covers are a true pain in the Chevy to clean! Will uses a friends parts cleaning tank to get them clean. All so while I have the intake off start to polish it back up again. Will all so get the Carb's part numbers and get a rebuild kit for it. One of the mechanic that works for me is going to go through the carb to be on the safe side for free, I like free!

While today was small step for Cuda Ken, it was huge step for the Mopar Fire!

See you all Saturday!

Had a pretty good day today, meet Jim and had a good time. What I did not know is Jim is a real train nut, maybe more so than myself. He asked to see my layout and all I could show him was a 65 car freight train that derailed as soon as I started it!  :shruggy: Trains are like cars, they work great till someone comes by and look at them. In cars cases someone says sweet car at the gas station, when you start it up, it back fires!  :nana:

With Jim being a train nut as well, I took him over to K-10 Model Trains. Jim was impressed (sure more by the layout there than my Road Runner)  :scratchchin: Here iss a link to K-10 Model Trains.

http://www.k-10smodeltrains.com/index.php?pagekey=layout

After we got back, we started wrenching on the Road Runner. I had cleaned some more before Jim got to the houses. Before we pulled the intake, we vacuumed the engine to get Maple tree seeds off the engine. Hum, never vacuumed a engine before?  :scratchchin:

Then we pulled the intake and M/T valve Covers. I cleaned the valley pan, vacuumed again (I am a clean freak) and dumped some Marvel Mystery Oil down each intake port. Then stuffed towel paper in the ports.

http://s83.photobucket.com/user/cudaken/media/Charger%20Site/1-06-15-1_zpsfd53db03.jpg.html]

Found no rust on the valve train, but the oil was black. But then again, it is 8 years old so what the heck.

Plan of attack for this coming Tuesday when Allen comes by, assuming he does not kill him self while doing the NASCAR Experiences today at Gateway Races Way.

Go to a friends shop to clean the valve covers in his parts washer. Pull the plugs and get some Marvel Mystery oil down the holes. Drain the oil, I wonder if my floor jack still works? Then start Pre- lubing the engine.

I have all so found, I cannot find a lot off my tools!  :brickwall: Need to find my 13/16 box end so I can get some of the plugs out!  :shruggy: Guess I have not needed it for 8 years as well!  :scratchchin:

See you all later, Cuda Ken

Damn!

I've been away from the train hobby too long.

I never knew that place existed.

I'll be checking it out!

cudaken

Stay a way from the Train Side young Daytona R/T SE, it is the dark side!

Yes, I am a train junkie and it got me out of Mopar. Well, I do love trains and have meet a lot of great people from my train site. But just like cars, you want more and better!

I have around 400 rolling stock (cars) 40 engines and they are computer controlled. I started out with $30.00 engines (318) and now have Hemi Engines, $700.00 engines that is!  :eek2:

Ever see a $700.00 HO scale train engine?  :scratchchin:

You have now!  :shruggy: And it not the only one!  :brickwall:

Welcome back, Cudaken.

I know you don't remember me...but before you left the site, you had a thread where you were doing body work on a 69 AMX. I followed that thread religiously, waiting for every update. I would chime in on it and ask you questions and you always answered any I had. Point is that thread inspired me to do my car myself, because I could not afford to have it done.

This is what my 69 looked like when you left the site....

And here it is now....

Good luck on your Roadrunner, I look foward to updates!
