I've always liked weird colour combinations like that! I've always said if I could go back and order a 1969 Charger brand new, I'd get black with blue interior :yesnod:

Same here. I guess maybe I'm jaded a little but I get off on the wacky special order car combinations. Love this one.

L1  with red interior  :o

A red interior was a recommended combination with L1 so the combo isn't that big of a deal. L1 is not a common color on '69 Coronets and especially a Bee.

Without seeing the tag, it's doubtful this was a 'special order'. People confuse an 'ordered' car with a true 'special order' car.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

I see body color through the grill - so the paint must have been an original can from an original auto paint supply house.

I'll be in that country in about two weeks, doing a little hunting off of a jet-boat.  I'll have to check with some of the natives as to who this might be. It is possible that I know the owner.
