I have seen those package tray "buttons" on eBay from time to time. I recently replaced the headershelf in my Charger -68 and it does seem like the holes marked in the red circle could be used for these press-in "buttons". Are these "buttons" fitted on the Charger?

I have no clue what kind of buttons you're talking about.

Thanks for the response, my question was kind of unclear I see that now... These are the clips I had in mind. But just like tan top mentioned, they don't seem to be for the Charger.

My 69 has the holes but there was never anything in them.  Some of the sheet metal on our cars was made for several models over several years.  So there can be "mystery" holes, bolts, etc that we don't use.  Just ignore them.

BLK 68 R/T

I think the original package tray that came out of my 68 has 2 clips on it that push into those holes. I will have to see if I can find it when I get home tonight. They are the same as the door panel clips though, and do not have the round head on them.

I believe the clips you speak of are the two "L" shaped clips/brackets that screw into the support with the X brace behind the seat?

BLK 68 R/T

So mine does not have those brackets with a screw, that mount on the forward face of the rear seat shelf. I have 2 clips in the bottom of the package tray that line up with the round dimpled spots near the speaker.

Hey Andreas, I have the clips and bases like the ones in BLK 68 R/T pics if you end up needing that type.

Question, when you buy a repo package tray do they include theses clips?

Pictured below are ones I removed from a 1973 Satellite.

EDIT: The black clips are the same ones they use on the door panels.

Thanks Bryan (and all others) for the info and pics!

Seems a bit unclear what was actually used... When I checked carefully on my car I can see a clear trace of those L-type package tray clips that holds the front edge. So for sure they have been on my car, but lost at some point in time.

Looking at the area around the dimpled spots, it also seems that a square clip has been sitting there. It can even be seen in the pic which I posted when I started the thread.

So to conclude, it seems that both type of clips were used.

To answer your question Bryan: No clips are included in the repo package trays. At least not the one I got from Legendary.
