Hi all,
I need a new alternator for my 73 Charger with a 440cu engine. I have A/C, but it s a new "Sanderson" type from Classic Air.
I have done a lot of research into new alternators and I have looked at Powermaster, BBB, Tuff Stuff and I have heard complaints about all of them.
Im not looking for 150+ amps, just a unit that fit in my stock mount and can keep my lights and A/C running at idle without draining the battery.
Does any one have an suggestions?
Are there "fleet" or OEM units still available
thanks
Vic

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Actually I never have heard complaint from TUFF STUFF alternators.

There is another option which I think is called dBelectrical or something like that. I have seen them on eBay

Any alt able to give 55 to 60 iddling SHOULD be enough

Quality power shows an stock alt (75 amps ) which states able to give 55 amps iddling, dunno the thruth on this.
