How many Daytona were built with F-5  ? color   any record of how many are still around?

Hi Jim

I checked just now, and have only recorded five F5 Med Green Metallic Daytonas in my informal list.  There were almost certainly more than that produced, but it's less than 2% of the cars I have a semi-reliable record of so far.

Hi Aero's,

I think that Bob Brown's UK Daytona is F5.
My mates C500 was F5 too.

I quite like it but most F5's seem to get color changed... :slap:

I have reported to Jim that there is only one F5 Daytona in our registry.
The problem is that it's painted blue and it could be a typo from B5?
Also the Daytona was reported stolen at one time.
Does anyone know if it was found or have more info?
Thanks! MJ

Magnificent car but what's up with the picture? Unlike many members on the board I think F5 is stunning!

By chance, I came across some information for an F5 Daytona.  Hopefully somebody can confirm or add to it.

Al'sRT, at http://www.challengertalk.com/forums/f5/another-challenger-superbird-205842/index2.html posted on 3/16/2016, "Owned 2 Daytonas in early `90, both project, both 440 auto, one T7 with tan interior white stripe XX29L9B414635 and one F5 black interior and stripe XX29L9B414641 Should have kept one of them ... "

It seems the information supplied for the XXX29L9B414635 is confirmed, so it seems the information for XX29L9B414641 is probably correct too.  Maybe somebody knows Al'sRT?

The one interesting detail I've noticed about several of the Canadian Daytonas though is that many of them seem to be "tri-color," with the wing a different color than the interior, as is the case with XX29L9B414635.  I'm not an expert though on any Daytonas, so this is just my observation.  Somewhat like the Canadian Daytonas also seem to come with the rare for the U.S. rear defog option too, but there are apparently also some out there without it.

Where did it pick up the F8 color code ?. I've owned it since the early 80's and was told it had 1 repaint, and that was in it's original F5 color. Don't believe it was ever any other color.

Thanks.

mopar4ya,
I don't know who the original data base came from?
As Daytonas appear such as yours I try to correct any errors and add pictures and or info.
For example until now there were no pictures of your fine F5 example!
Thanks!MJ

Hi mopar4ya,

I'm getting information for the registry wherever I can, and I can't recall where an F8 code would have come from.  We're grateful for any additional information and especially corrections like this paint code.  John knows a lot of Daytona owners and is helping me fill out the spreadsheet.  Glad to know you're preserving this one.

some of the data out there is based on pictures or eyewitness sightings and the color/transmission/other indicated are not based on the actual fender tag info
