I see the assemblies all over but they all seem to stop at 72. Are these the same on the 74 B body? If not, then what? Just press in ball joints? (or thread in as I have seen on some)

Gold Rush

Can't speak to the similarity between the '72 and '74 lower control arms.   :shruggy:  I can tell you that the lower ball joint on my '74 SE is press in.  The upper ball joint is a screw in style.  :brickwall:

Since 73 all ball joints changed from earliers setup, like the rest of front suspension parts

Where BTW 73 lowers are just one year production being threated like uppers. On 74 they began to be press in.

I think 74s could still be installed on 73 if LCA got sized the threads though

Thanks guys! That settles that then. I was going tube uppers any way. Looks like between rebuilding the lowers and such, I'll go down to HArbor Freight and buy a press!
