Ballast resistor

back in 2013 i upgraded my 69 charger to 70s style wiring. with the orange box and different ballast resistor. After reading about alot of guys having back up electrical parts for their cars i decided to purchase some for myself as well. But when i went to look for the ballast resistor, i can not find a place that sells it anymore. they are all out of stock. The ballast resistor is P5206436. i first got it from summit back in 2013, but they dont carry it anymore. i found it on https://www.moparpartsgiant.com/parts/mopar-resistor-ballast~p5206436.html but when i ordered it i got an email saying it has been discontinued, then why list it on your site.

Does anyone know where to get these or a replacement part number. thanks

There are several of these... metal bracket or molded attaching shape, then both are available with resistor isolated with epoxy and some others without that. Dunno which one is exactly the one you are searching for, but thats one on the cheap

I'm not really sure about the diff application on each one of those anyway.

I think my isssue was that I was using just the part number to search. Not realizing that different vendors have different numbers. I feel dumb now, lol. Oh well. Thanks again

[One mopar]

On mine as temporary fix I pulled my 1986 chevy K1500 sbc 350 distributor and used the HEI guts works better than the mopar suff and no more ballast resister  all I used was the 70s mopar dizzy to my trailer 2 wire pigtail. Look up Tyler said who on you tube

I use to search on everyway as posible trying to save ANY CENT AS POSIBLE!

I bought one off summit that is # ru11. Said It is a replacement for the part # I was looking for. I got two, but when they came in they measured .9 ohms. The one on my car reads 1.2
Is that ok. I did disconnect the one in car before measuring.

Wasn't with my car the 70s parts with work with out one but it shortens the life of other parts ( like the oil filled ignition coil )racers use to do that to get a hotter spark or what I did 😏 My ballast resistor was a 1 ohm on the part # if I'm remembering right I was so mad I  throw it in the trashcan and said good riddance it only lasted less than 50 miles or less and it was all new it's one of the things I wish mopar did differently and thicker paint 2 / better but on race day it might be faster

Did you measure the OHMs on the new one vs the old one.
i have the ones i can remove from my 69 Bee and 69 RR and test them to see.
