And no, the wireless airpods didnt come out til the iphone 7, about a year after the last touch.

Though you could get them to work with touch if it has ios 10. Or just get bluetooth.

not wireless airpods, I meant wired earpods

iPod touch 5 came out by 2013 or so, and 6 by 2016 or so

yes, wired, but remote controled or not?

finally found it seems the ones I got is ok. It was weird because applestore seems to offer just the remote controled unit as replacement  ( I got one set once ), and specs on website about iPod touch just says it comes with earpods, but never mention or show if is the remote controled or not. I think they should offer the non remote control unit for correct replacement if get damaged ?

later I found this which seems to confirm that they came with non remote control/mic feature

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_earbuds

it seems there is more variety than I though. And is not clear about the non remote unit is available individually but I can't find it on applestore ( just for reference, not because I need it )

I needed one iPod for my job and got a really good priced and fairly complete iPod touch 5th gen  ( everything included but the sync wire which I already have and including the matching package ) and I thought the earpods included were Chinesse junk, and not originals. Shame it found will need new battery.
